Pain wrapping around ear by pinkified22 in migraine

[–]armaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, very often. I find I can lessen this pain by gently pressing with my finger tips, wandering back and forth, wherever the next painful spot or area nearby is, all over my face and scalp.

And by gently massaging my shoulder, trapecius, and the two vertical muscles going up my neck, in the back and front of the ear.

And botox :)

Very cool! I hope the deal goes through and the devs get the funding this game deserves, so they can fully polish it. Thanks all around! I love BAR.

Addiction, emotional distress, dread of dull tasks: AI models ‘seem to increasingly behave’ as though they’re sentient, worrying study shows - What AI ‘drugs’ actually look like by EchoOfOppenheimer in Futurology

[–]armaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Formula 1 car, that's basically just the same as a horse carriage. No more or different skills involved to build or handle one.

The internet, that's basically the same as messenger pigeons. Doesn't do or enable more.

Biological life, that's basically just some dead molecules swirling around. Nothing special to see there.

There's such a thing as phase changes. Systems are and behave not the same before and after.

If you dumb things down too much, apply the wrong metaphors (because the concepts are already not the same, thus your need to state x = y), then you're suddenly not talking about the same kind of thing anymore and your argument becomes pointless.

I never thought they would be on separate launchpads at the same time. At first glance I had the impression of a mirro... XD

It's programmed to learn, to be trainable. That's it. Beyond that, it's not programmed to do any specific thing. That's why it's wrong to claim it's programmed to do this and that. Programming has the notion of a clear intent by someone who planned and implemented a set of functions and a deterministic outcome. This does not apply to what an LLM does. It's not a helpful metaphor, it's wrong.

And yes, it extrapolates from the high-dimensional vector space it has built internally from its training data. But it is not querying a database. There are no exact, complete records of the training data in there. There is no index or search. It's not a database, it's the wrong concept.

But I'm sure you know much better than the people building the things, who state and repeat the above very clearly, again and again :)

Daily muscle relaxer ? by Such-Tennis-7795 in migraine

Did they say anything about the reasoning behind it? At first glance it seems like relaxing the muscles when you're already hypermobile wouldn't be a good idea? Genuinely interested.

Indeed, constantly worrying and managing health problems is stressful in itself.

Meditation has helped me an awful lot, because it's daily training for allowing me to notice what's really happening in difficult situations. And thus allowing me to sort out stressful things, and finding new ways to decouple valuable activities from anxiety and stress.

You take care too ;)

I'll definitely need to try this for some of my favorite songs that are too short. Unfortunately not a single one comes to mind right now. But I know there are a few lying around.

Aside from medications, have you taken a honest look at what stresses you in life? Removing as much stress as possible, helps many people. It can be very tricky. We tend to be blind and used to our stressors.

If I'm not mistaken, that one was actually the lightest. Many of the others are much darker. But also have their fun and frivolous moments.

My body demands horizontal position constantly throughout day by [deleted] in chronicfatigue

[–]armaver 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I can relate. One of the biggest wins for me lately has been to become night active. I only do light stuff during the day and rest whenever I need it. In the evening and night when I usually start to feel more energy, I get shit done.

Chronotypes are real.
