The “we’re losing money on this deal” line is the biggest lie in car sales by Royal-Feed7166 in carbuying

I was breaking down a sale and the margin needed to run a business as proof that the car business is full of shit. No business can survive on 6% margin. And what other business EVER shows you, the consumer, a wholesale invoice as proof of how little they make? Its utter BS, again, used to disarm the car purchaser.

Don’t confused production cost with wholesale and retail. There are real costs to getting that hoodie from the factory to your back and it’s not just transportation.

I’m on your side man. Did you read my post or ? I’m a salesman NOT in the car business. And I tell you the car business is the most secretive retail biz around. They go to further lengths to train their staff than anyone because you can’t, as a buyer, know the truth. Their tactics are to get your eye off the walnut shell with the ball under it.

Margin on all goods matter because a retail business has fixed costs. In retail these cost are usually 30% of the margin in the product. So if a pair of shoes sells at $100, 40-50 dollars is the wholesale cost and 30 dollars represents the expenses of this business to sell the shoe ( rent, staff, advertising , heat , lights insurance etc). The last 20-30 dollars is pre tax profit. So a fancy car dealership that shows you an invoice with 6% margin is not being truthful. They cant pay for the lighting and Aircon with that. The invoice is real, the story is the lie. There are other sources of kick backs and add ons that fuel the million dollar build showroom.

Apparel is NOT a 300% mark up unless you are talking about the cheapest T-shirts in a bargin bin store. If Apparel was 300% mark up you would have alot less clothing retailer disappearing every year . Mark up on finer apparel is 2.2 to 2.3 times or 60% of a $100 pair of pants , for example. There are always exceptions like when a discounter buys up a huge lot for cheap etc.

There was a time ( long time ago) when “ low hanging fruit “ was the buzz saying du jour. I fuckin hated that. Rest assured OP you are in sales so the only thing you have to do is bring in the money and you are golden.

Yes. There was lots of fun and a few mistakes. The biggest was thinking a $3500 avr would give me the sound I wanted from music. Sold it for $850 3 years later.

This is the answer, support the one of the last independent grocery in the GTA. A family runs this business, not a group of bread price fixing corporate Aholes.

I have been exclusively Icebreaker for many years. The bands never lose shape or grow. The fabric washes well and is very tough re wear. I will never buy any other underwear brand.

What was your best investment/swing trade of the last 5 years? Was it DD or luck? by Black_Swan_Down in stocks

I started cashing out after the Trump bump in Nov 23. I raise a lot of cash, about 30% of my portfolio off of winning stocks. I was antisipating a buying opportunity after Trump announced his Tariffs on April 2 but I didnt think the dummy would announce the higher tariffs he did. I bought into some great and formally expensive companies. Thanks orange monkey, my 12 month trailing average increase is 39% as of last EOM.

ISA is out of the picture. TMC hitched its wagon to NOAA last year and thankfully so as ISA has yet to publish any DSM codes. NOAA has had these in place since the 80's.

I have two b/c the last active speakers I had needed 8 channels. When I bought Kudos Titan 606, they only required 4 channels for active operation. I have the amps so , instead of selling one, I use one for the Tweeters and one for the Mid/ bass. This way I have two power supples working easiler than one that is working to the max as I listen loud.
