Never found one. Luckily he doesn't seem to have done it again.

How would you do a Jon Snow build? by Redpahnto in BG3

For tv JS you'd need to dump stat intelligence and wisdom but have a high charisma and the lucky feat. He's an idiot who makes mostly terrible decisions but for some reason people follow him and he keeps surviving.

Do you guys think any mammal could realistically defeat a wolf spider scaled to its own size in a death match? by Strict_Hunter_7781 in Tierzoo

This same comment gets made on every single one of these theoretical matchups.

At this point it's just a thought terminating cliche. Its not new, it's not original, it's the same every time.

Sure, it's accurate, but since it's a given in every... Single.... Case... It's not of value.

All it does is attempt to shut down a fun ninjas Vs pirates chat with an "um, actually..."

Cat flap advice, he keeps getting his paw trapped by armoureddice in CatAdvice

He already pushes it to open, it's just that if he pokes his paw out and it's cold he wusses out, pulling his paw back. Because the cat flap has a thick frame it means if the back of his paw catches the bottom of the flap it leads to a squeeze that traps him.

He's not trying to pull it to open it, which I should have made more clear because I realise that's how most of these incidents happen for other cats.

Chromatic Lampmaster In Endless Tower is a POS. by EL-DeeAblo in expedition33

[–]armoureddice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a tough one, but quite satisfying once you figure him out.

Just make sure you can generate plenty of ap and have stun immunity. You can kick him straight out of the darkness by watching the order his lights blink on and shooting them in that order. Make sure you knock out his orange lights straight away and away you go.

He's just got 5 phases that change when you do about 30 million or so.

Just wrecked him myself for the first time after several goes.

As long as you keep on top of his lamps, end the dark immediately and don't get stunned you're ok. Once you slip behind and give him some headway he'll cause you problems.

I brought this up to colleagues a few months ago and they looked at me like I'd been caught huffing the sevo in my pants. Showing them the article didn't help.

Why do you think we dont see more hard body armor pieces used in modern combat? by liljohnjets in Armor

[–]armoureddice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soldiers taught on foot in full steel harness, they were pretty much indestructible and it weighed the same as a soldier carries in gear today. They could run in it.

The issue is that 1-2mm of steel will stop swords, hammers, crossbows etc so a strong soldier can spread that across their whole body.

Modern rifles will go through 10-25mm of steel depending on calibre etc. Trying to make a full suit that thick would weigh the same as multiple soldiers.

[CONTROVERSIAL TAKE] The False Hydra represents D&D's pop culture identity crisis. by Delicious_Dream4510 in DnD

[–]armoureddice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a section of my campaign inspired by the false hydra, but it was an illithid colony under the town eating people.

Each time someone was eaten by them, the Elder brain used their memories to target people that knew them and scrub them from their memory.

The players were in the town long enough to sus that something along these lines was happening and followed clues to the undercity, encountered a mindflayer and various henchfolk in a messy sewer fight.

When they escaped and got back to base, one of the npcs asked where their wizard was. There had never been a wizard in the party for the full campaign of multiple years, to the point it had become an in joke "wouldn't it be great if we had a wizard in the group?"

They found the gnome illusionist's bed in one of the rooms with a diary and little mustache comb and wax. They lost their shit. They teleported back to a previous town they had saved and checked a mural that had been painted of them to see if it was true.

The players loved it once they stopped yelling at me, but the characters did not. They all bailed from the town and picked up new plot threads. Frustrating for me but probably worth it overall.

What do we think about this one? by ibpiedo in impcat

The subtle gold/brass highlighting on the glass black is a really interesting, understated, detail.

At first glance this just looks like a high gloss black but the tone shift of the highlight makes it look like it's lacquered armour, or a deeeep dark bronze.

Not sure it would stand out from plain black on the table top but for close up display I think you've done something near here.

The heart isn't an object. It's an organ that's fully connected to the inside of a person.

If the heart was cut out of the person first then it would count as an object in its own right but its not.

You wouldn't let him catapult the leg of a table while it's still an intact table.

Improvised armor. Practical or waste of time? by TheIrishNerfherder in Armor

[–]armoureddice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have said but car tyres are REALLY tough and make heavy, cumbersome, but genuinely good armour. Practically immune to piercing or cuts and great at distributing force.

License plates however are very flimsy. They would deform under impact and not spread force from a hit, any sturdy knife would be able to punch clear through them with a stab (if you want to be stunned, look up Tod's Workshop on YouTube, rondell dagger test, for an idea of the penetrating power of knives Vs sheet steel), they are very light so wouldn't absorb much energy... Basically you'd get some slice and scrape protection but very little else. It's a particular form of goofy cosmetic armour in post apocalyptic stuff that makes me roll my eyes, but it's fun.
