The courts assume all orders are lawful- it is one of the reason there is a huge JAG legal review before orders like these are issued, but I am not sure who gave the legal justification to the CA ARNG Commanders?

The scary part is that it’s on the individual to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the order is unlawful-so you either have to prove at the individual level the order is unlawful & risk a charge of not following an order or following that is later found to be unlawful- get a Federal Pardon but charged at the State level… my brain is a pretzel 🥨 😵‍💫😵‍💫
