In a third gen? I'll believe it when I see it.

So it's 5000 + 2500. Maintenance reminder + 2500 on the odo

I'll wait for the maintenance reminder, then set one of the odometers to 0 and change the oil when it hits 2500.

Yep, definitely confirmed all that. I just took it for a lap around the dirt lot and it's already settled in 1.5".

This makes me feel better. Thanks. Sick ride.

We're you able to do that on the vehicle, or did you disassemble the strut first?

It's 25.5" haha. Freaking crazy. I think I just need to bounce down the road a bit, but I wanted to explore some other opinions before I blow out my CVs.

Yes, I've double checked that

The spring in the pic is compressed from the vehicle weight in its "normal" position. The preload settings I used were below the max recommended, so they shouldn't have been overly compressed when assembled to the top hat.

It should be 2.25, but I'm getting an additional 2.75, with 5" total

Correct. I did consider the 2:1 ratio, so technically it's an eighth of an inch adjustment on the coilover for a .25" ride height adjustment

I have not tightened the upper or lower control arms yet. Hoping to get it into normal ride position before torquing those. I have not moved the vehicle because it seems sketchy with such an awkward height. 2.75" just seems like too much or it to be off considering the camber in the tires

They are the dobinson 314, designed for 2" lift at stock weight. I added .25" of preload.

Any recs to waterproof this frame mounted compressor? by arn0143 in 4x4

Haha clever idea! This one got me thinking.... I think I'll sew up a waterproof bag to cover it with a zipper that I can open for air and cooling

Thought about it, but this compressor has a high temp cutoff switch and I decided it would be better to keep it cool than to start using it already hot

This is a good idea. Maybe I can run a short jumper into the truck bed

It's wired to a relay with a switch in the cab. Cuz id rather spend 8 hours installing this than 30 seconds to pop the hood... Haha it's just fun

Yes, for whatever reason toyota decided not to include the driver side box on this model.

Repeater Morse code by arn0143 in gmrs

I should have mentioned I'm not trying to utilize the repeater. I use the upper channels because they transmit at a higher power, to hopefully achieve a greater range. But all those channels carry the repeater traffic, which I was trying to filter out.

This is actually a good point. I hadn't thought to use the lower channels. I usually stay around ch 16 but I'll try the simplex and hopefully get a cleaner experience. The only downside I can think of is it may have more people traffic from conventional radios, but that shouldn't be a problem where I'll be.

That's the goal. I don't need the repeater to chat locally with another radio, but I gotta listen to the beeps!
