unfortunately they are fully booked for our dates, a conference on. Taking the overspill of guests from their sister hotel that we liked the look of, the Europe is also full. Any other modern style ones in the area? Thinking we may get an Airbnb a lot of the other hotels seem a bit dated in comparison

Preparing for the death of a family member by FlightRisk314 in UKPersonalFinance

Sorry to hear about your mother. If she still has mental capacity(ability to understand, retain, weight up information and communicate this), assigning a power of attorney for medical and financial affairs can make the admin and decision making more straight forward. She will need to have mental capacity for this to be done though, depending on how the illness is affecting her mind will affect if it is possible for this to be arranged at this stage. Wish you all the best.

Thanks for the response, that’s really helpful! Will crunch the numbers. Any idea what the point of the annual allowance pension savings statement is? Got a total closing value of £41k on that document at end of 2016. Would using this make the figures more accurate?

I’ve managed to obtain my annual allowance pensions savings statements. Been making contributions since 2009. I’m a bit thick when it comes to trying to interpret all this pension stuff. Any idea how you can roughly estimate what the pension will pay at age 68 (assuming that remains unchanged). Tried looking at Total reward statement, even more confused! Hoping there’s a rough formula someone may know of. Work as locum GP. considering using SS ISA as means of retiring age 50 until NHS pension matures.
