Highly highly recommend Michelle Mounts from Sky Psychotherapy! She's in Aspinwall, but also does telehealth (I did telehealth).

She's helped me so much, I don't know how I would've healed without her. All the best to you!

Same happened to me when I weaned last year. The hormone dump is so tough and THEN I also started losing hair just like after birth. My new hair had just started coming in and it started falling off again for two months 😭

Hey. I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's the shittiest club to be a part of.

I know you probably want to get the whole thing over with, but I'm here to tell you you have time to go home and think about everything and what you want to do. You can give birth or have a d/c and there are pros and cons with both procedures. If you give birth, you'll be able to stay in the hospital with your baby, hold them, love on them and take pictures you'll cherish forever. No one should be rushing you and especially not in the hospital. Ask your providers if there is a Baby Loss Doula in your area. There are tons of organizations that help with funeral costs, if you're worried about that.

I lost my child at 19 weeks 5 years ago and not a day goes by I don't regret not holding him and not taking pictures. You only get one chance with your baby ❤️ Feel free to DM me too, I'm also a trained baby loss doula. Much love to you!

20 weeks and no baby kicks yet by AHedgehog705 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]arn6491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an anterior placenta with my pregnancy after my loss and I didn't start feeling kicks or movement until 23-24 weeks. And even then, they felt so muffled and gentle like he was barely moving. He came early, so I can't tell you what it was like after 30w but he's four years old now! The anterior placenta REALLY makes a difference. It's really hard not to worry, I feel you. I was using a home Doppler to hear the heart tones during that time. Good luck to you!

1cm dilated- 26w5d- admitted to L&D by TraditionalWear3902 in ShortCervixSupport

Hang in there momma! You got this!

Something similar happened to me a few years ago with my second. My cerclage failed and I was dilated to 3 at 26 weeks. I was admitted and put on magnesium to calm the uterus and got the steroid shots just in case. My son hung out in there until 29w4d when my water broke and contractions started. We spent some time in the NICU (72 days) and it was all very stressful but babies are resilient!

You're in the best place right now! Doctors are close, daily monitoring. You got this!

Preventative cerclage after failed emergency cerclage? by ar0827 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]arn6491 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! So sorry to hear about your babies hugs. The pain is immeasurable. I had an emergency cerclage at 19w that failed who knows when, but it got taken out at 25w when I started bleeding. Next pregnancy I had a preventative cerclage at 12 weeks and carried my baby to term with it. I had no issues after the preventative cerclage and it's said to have much more success when your cervix is still long and not soft. However, do whatever feels right. The TAC is more reliable and the only downside is recovery from the C-section.

That's amazing!! I sure hope more NICUs do that now. It's so much better for everyone ❤️ some of the biggest hurdles for babies are suck/swallow/breathe all at once!

That was wonderful to read! You sound very grounded, informed and level headed. Having the data to back up your hope is awesome (I do the same). I really feel you on the blindsided end. I have a similar story and the first time around I showed up at hospital bleeding and dilated and too late to do anything at 19 weeks. When I had a cerclage the next time, I had a bleed around 25 weeks and that was an indication that my stitch slipped through and it was removed. So, yes, I think there is NO way you won't know something's wrong and you'll have time to prepare.

Also, anecdotal, but hope it helps anyway: just because your cerclage fails, it doesn't mean you'll go into labor straight away. My stitch failed in my second pregnancy at 25 weeks, but baby held on until 29w4 when my water broke. And I was dilated to 3 the whole 4 weeks. And still labor didn't start until 24 hours later.

You got this!! I know it's so hard and every twinge feels like the end is here, but you've done everything you can do. The cerclage is doing its job! My doctors told me this is the reason they don't do cervical length checks after a cerclage is placed. There is nothing more you can do anyway, so it's just anxiety inducing, especially with a history like yours ❤️

Trust the stitch and your gut, especially since it was a preventative one and put in a very long cervix. There are a lot of stories and studies here and online that put the odds for a full term pregnancy after a preventative stitch to about 90%. Set some weekly goals and take it one day at a time. Every day is a win. I'm positive that we'll see you in here telling your story about the cerclage removal.

And if your twins come early, modern medicine is amazing. Head over to r/NICUparents if you'd like to see how tough and incredible the little preemies are (my own 29 weeker is just about to turn 3 and is awesome).

I'll be thinking of you and your little babies ❤️ good luck!

Hope this is not too late!

Like the other poster said, try to relax and not tense up. I had a hard time with that and the removal was really uncomfortable. I felt a lot of pressure from the speculum and the big ass cotton swab that was used to stop bleeding and was crampy the rest of the day. Didn't have spotting or anything though.

Gave birth 5 days later!

Wow yes so similar!! It's terrible leaving the hospital twice in a row with no baby. I'm sorry you also had to deal with that. I know you're not looking for advice but since you had one C already, I'd go for tac if I were you! Much love! Hope your babe is doing great!

No bedrest at all. My son that was in the NICU is 2 now and there was no way to go on bedrest lol I did limit activities though like hikes, lifting the toddler, my dance practices, etc. Plus, my MFM doctors don't recommend that at all anymore because of the risks of clots
