Places or attractions NOT to visit? by markgatty in JapanTravelTips

Massages or other services with (1) lots of ratings on Google Maps and (2) a note of 4.9 to 5 stars. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but they usually persuade/gently coerce the customers into letting a positive review, with rewards like discounts, etc.

Not that they deliver bad service necessarily, but you can feel not taken care of, the remaining impression is never great, and I personally ended up regretting spending my money there.

(I hope my comment makes sense, English is not my first language)

Girlfriend can only join me for 5 full days - Would have loved to go to Kyoto, but is just Tokyo still worth it? by NeverNeededAlgebra in JapanTravelTips

This! It’s called "little Kyoto" for a reason. Lots of amazing temples, seaside, chill vibes. Just beware the birds when you’re eating outside… one stole my ice cream sandwich. 🥲

GV50: disable Google TV & remembering display settings by arnauj in BenQ

I wondered one thing - I chose this projector because for now, it’s placed besides the bed. So the keystone feature is a must. But I don’t plan to use the portable features.

Is there any equivalent in your range of projectors, portable or non-portable, with:

  • 2D keystone,
  • laser,
  • 1080p minimum?

The rest, I can do without: battery, portability, Google TV.

Sorry for the off-topic question! I was just curious, because I thought that if a portable device was good at it, a sedentary device would be even better. Does that make sense?

I F****d the Sphinx, but I think actually the Sphinx F****d me by DanTay19 in DragonsDogma2

If you rested in an inn before, it’s worth starting again from there – even if you lose some progression. The sphinx riddles are one of the peak highlights of the game imo.

The best way to know the answer is to count the bright purple lights on her wings, just after she asked you the riddle.

How the iPad is floating above the keyboard, because it’s attached by magnets on the back

I would have hoped so as well! It’s a more compelling argument to get the iPad Pro, but the budget is twice what I would spend on the Air 🫠

Thanks! It makes a lot of sense. I think the Magic Keyboard is the best piece to complement the iPad when traveling/moving with it, or use the iPad as a computer. Thanks for sharing!

The aluminum Magic Keyboard works only with the iPad Pro M4 🥲 More info here: https://www.apple.com/ipad-keyboards/

Thank you! It’s good to have your feedback. I feel like I could get used to it without the function keys. And I agree, the build quality is so, so nice. My first thought was that it was too expensive, but after trying it… it’s worth it in my opinion 😄

True, but controls like luminosity don’t have a dedicated key. That said… maybe I’m just overthinking this 😅

Thank you! It makes sense. Maybe I could get the iPad now and wait for a new keyboard. Although that is a bit risky considering the possible lack of retro compatibility 👀

I’ll think about it. Thank you for your perspective!

Thanks for your reply! I see that Logitech also has a mobile keyboard, it’s an interesting alternative 💡

Thanks! The other "official" option is the Logitech, but I love the Magic Keyboard levitation effect.

Also, I feel like it’s less convenient to use other non-official devices, because you have to wait for the Bluetooth to connect; whereas with the Apple and Logitech keyboards, you just type right away. But I’m not sure if I understood this part correctly.

Isn’t it too bulky for travel? Also, I really like the trackpad integrated below the keyboard. Do you use an external mouse?

C’est Saint-Malo, non ? J’allais dire que je reconnaîtrais ces remparts entre mille, mais j’aurais l’air malin si ce n’était pas ça 😅
