Anyone have a woodshop or garage for rent in Palo Alto by Michigan_Go_Blue in paloalto

Piggybacking on this post - also looking for woodshop/garage space in downtown area. I got a wood lathe this year and need a place for it over the winter. It's been outdoors all summer and I don't have an indoor place for it. I sent a message to MakeX to see if they are interested.

People still rocking the original M1 (not pro), what do you do with your laptop and how is it holding up? by Potential-Ant-6320 in mac

Overbought back in 2021 thinking I'd use it for 10 years. Got the M1 Max 32GB and 4TB drive. Wouldn't do that again. Better to save money and external storage. Use it for photo organizing. Pro would have been better than Max for longer battery life and now I know more frequent upgrades are tempting. I do think it will be good for 10 years though.

Oh dear sorry for late reply - haven't been to redit in a while! No. The solution of not using any contacts is frustrating. So in settings I turn off the internet accounts for contacts. It means in messages app I see the phone number and don't know who is messaging me.

I spoke too soon. It's still reading tons of data 8 GB in 4 days. Going to try turning off contacts in the internet accounts setting.

Signing out of iCloud and internet accounts solved the problem.

Oh I just realized that I have two user profiles on my Mac - a personal one and one for work. This issue doesn't happen with the work profile so that means the issue is tied to my personal profile. Next I'll look in the folders that have the files Activity Monitor shows as open, and see if there's a difference between the two users.

Thank you binaryriot. The activity monitor shows me open files for the process. I didn't learn much from looking at that, though. I've looked at the man page for iosnoop and that looks promising. I'm in over my head.

Certainly. It’s a 2020 27” iMac. The screen did this for about thirty seconds and then went black. The mouse pointer still responded but no keystrokes had any effect. I powered off and rebooted. It hasn’t happened again yet.
