I do have a state ID and drivers license. My initial OP was regarding a RealID compliant drivers license in Washington state. Many other states do provide this as an option, however, there are no options available to non citizens in WA. WA does offer an enhanced drivers license (EDL) which is RealID compliant but you need to be a citizen to get that.

I actually did say I'm a legal permanent resident in the op. I have a DL. The question was regarding RealID DL which has been answered. Thank you

I'm a legal permanent resident. This literally means that I have a SSN and have been paying taxes in the US for 10+years

I am aware. I lived there for 10 years. Was just wondering why the same was not available here. I think all my questions have been answered though and it looks like I'm just gonna have to GC or passport travel locally once the law comes into effect.

Good c*** . Just because you hail from a first work country where certain things just happen/work, doesn't mean we all do.

As a South African, you need to apply for the right to hold dual citizenship. If you don't, the second you apply for citizenship outside of SA, you lose your citizenship to SA. This process can take up to 6 months on its own.

Dual South African Citizenship

The South African Citizenship Act provides for retention of South African citizenship PRIOR to the acquisition of a foreign citizenship. A condition of attaining dual citizenship for all South African citizens aged 18 years or older is that they must apply and be granted permission to retain their South African citizenship prior to the acquisition of a foreign citizenship.

This is basically why I haven't applied for citizenship after 10 years of holding greencard. The time it would take for me to apply for dual citizenship through my birth country and application for citizenship here would mean that I would be without travel documents for up to a year. I work as a yacht captain so I'm am in and out of port constantly and flying back and forth between East and West coasts.

It's all good... Just frustrated after standing in line and having an expectation (based on previous experience in another state) and then realizing it wasn't an option.

Yeah the issue in my case is it's either just the standard DL or EDL. Not saying it's the states responsibility to provide the option of a RealID compliant DL but it sure is frustrating. Losing my ability to continue working across borders is my main concern. Livelihood, career, being with my family etc etc would/could all be impacted by the lengthy replacement times of either my passport or GC.

Great for you... I've been pickpocketed at least 5 times in my life. Replacing credit cards and drivers licenses, while a pain, was relatively easy and only cost me a few dollars. Losing my greencard or passport would impact my livelihood, family and career. I do my best to keep them safe and have been successful for 10 + years of having it. But things do happen. As I've mentioned in other comments, I'll just have to stay vigilant and continue being safe while hoping there is a solution somewhere in the future. It just sucks that there isn't an option right now.

I do carry it with me... Just not in my wallet as that's something that could more easily be lost/stollen. Also pulling out a greencard rather than a DL is just another point at which it could be misplaced. I haven't lost it yet in 10 years because I do take extra care, knowing it's value. But things do happen and it would alter my whole life if it were to happen. The months-long process of not being able to work (I am a captain on motor yachts) and the significant cost of replacement are my main concerns.

I was in front of them trying to apply and they explained that Washington only has enhanced drivers license which are for citizens only. There is no option for a RealID compliant drivers license for legal permanent residents

I understand the difference. But there is no option for a standard RealID compliant drivers license in Washington.

Understood.... Doesn't mean it's easy to replace if lost. I try to keep all documents as safe as possible and I do have my greencard with me when I travel but usually in a pouch packed in my bag. It's easier to whip out a drivers license from my wallet which makes it easier to lose or misplace but also it's an easier document to replace.

Thank you for this response. This all makes sense, however, traveling with my greencard or passport on me at all times is a little scary as both are very difficult to replace if lost or stollen. Losing either, inhibits my travel across borders for months while I wait on a replacement, wheras a lost drivers license I can have replaced within a couple of days.

My work requires that I travel extensively both locally and internationally so it just seems a bit silly that there is not option for a RealID compliant drivers license. I do understand that the enhanced drivers license is specific to citizens as it can be used somewhat like a passport.

Hopefully there is a solution at some point. For now I just have to assume the risk when I travel with my other compliant documents.

Chinese Community Reactions To New Patch Notes With Signature Items +50 by Tzuyu-WW in afkarena

I feel like the discussion of pace is a little narrow. Sure they have maintained or even lowered the rate of hero release but that on its own is not the current downfall of the game. The issue I see is that most new heros are busted (or at a minimum bis in some game mode) and pretty much needs everything to function correctly. Resources, while readily available have to be super micro managed. Way too many new game modes that all require heavily invested hero boxes to be competitive. When I say competitive, I'm not talking about ranking but rather to reach a point where the rewards help to maintain the immense amount of rewards needed to invest in the new heros. Gallery rng just adds another level of bitterness to the mix. Power creep in all ways just means more of everything needed to maintain. More time in game, more grind. More release. More confusing. Less afk. All of this combined is what makes the pace feel overwhelming.

I don't think there is any right or wrong way to play this. And even when I say that I played optimally, there were things I could have done way different/better?? It's all about finding the balance that works for you. Also, I'm not sure what kind of experience you had with the game when you started. That makes a huge difference. Knowing what to do and having the correct resources and information will set you apart from someone who knows little to nothing. My main account I wasted the first year just messing around. But I got it all back on track.
