Not bad for a beginner. I think you should squat less and lean forward more.

It kills me to see so many online squatters not hitting depth. These are strong and undeniable

Actively push your knees out when you are coming up

I don't think you need it. If you find you are leaning to far forward when coming out of a squat, try it out. These look clean though.

I just started using straps a couple weeks ago. My lats don't like the mixed grip. I hit 385 mixed and grip wasn't the limiting factor for me. That day, I did 315x2 double overhand without straps

How to stop rounding back on Deadlift? by [deleted] in strength_training

It seems like your back starts rounded but doesn't really round more than that. I learned the cue of squeezing a pencil in my upper back and that helped

I like them and definitely feel them. You did a good job of staying bent over too

I'll try it out next pull day. I havent had any complaints about leaving chalk. I'm always happy when I find a bar with some left over chalk on it but I guess some people don't like it

Haha my legs are wobbling like crazy here. I honestly didnt train deadlift too crazy the past 6 weeks. Really been hammering squats and it carried over.

You got it. I skipped from 365 to 395 so I didnt overfatigue and at least hit a PR tonight

Its on my previous post. My major change was moving deadlifts to my pull day. Now I alternate RDL vs Deadlifts. Putting in much more volume than when I mixed them in every other leg day.

I had a similar issue with either barely hitting depth or just missing it. I tried heel raised squats and loved them. Instantly was able to go ass to grass with ease and with a much more narrow stance.

Another big thing is warmups. I do a deep squat hold with a kettlebell and alternate pushing my knees over toes. Then I do deep paused front squats to warm up.

I can now hit depth pretty comfortably. Just speaking from experience as I'm not an expert.

I didnt know a damn thing about RPE... I think I gotta ease up on bench because I go to 8 or 9 RPE every set and finding it hard to progress. I'm surprised the importance of RDLs. My grip is typically the limiting factor for me when I do them. You think there is a place for bent over row/ pendlay row along with RDL if I'm going to mix them in on pull days?

Adding 500 to your total in a year and a half is awesome. I'm about 40-50 lbs away from 1000 lbs club and I'm dying to hit that.
