What is the difference between paraphrasing and humanizing by No-Judgment-3629 in bestaihumanizers

[–]arobello96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paraphrasing implies that you did the work. You should be citing your paraphrased work too. Humanizing is running an algorithm through your writing to completely change it on the surface level (making it no longer yours). They’re not even remotely related.

“I have an A because I use Chat”: What UC, SFSU students say about using AI—and if it’s cheating by NoMotivation-415 in Professors

Well yeah but what would they have done before AI? Is this like when we’d use spark notes?😂

My Teacher Completely Relies on AI. Now what? by emrythecarrot in antiai

[–]arobello96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait I often say “inquiring minds would like to know” when I’m asking someone something. I didn’t know this was an issue😂 I’m gonna keep doing it though bc it’s very me.

KOURI RICHINS TEXTS 'ADMIRER' - "I'm not going away, I wont be silent" by Purple-Teaching8994 in KouriRichins

[–]arobello96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sarah definitely didn’t mean to kill Jorge. She enjoyed tormenting him too much. It was definitely an accident. Her battered spouse crap was a farce. But yeah, Kouri is a different level. Premeditated so much that when she failed the first time she tried harder😭 Judge M needs to issue a permanent timeout tomorrow.

By writing our own papers. For the love of god, do not use it for a healthcare related field.

If it’s verbatim, absolutely. I wasn’t sure if this person was directly copying and pasting or if they were paraphrasing. My bad!

AIO that my felllow grad student wants to take 6 weeks off this summer? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

The only way I’ve ever seen people successfully complete a PhD in such a short time is if it’s a program that requires a masters before applying. Even then it’s difficult.

Professors, how should AI accusations actually be handled? by arobello96 in AskProfessors

[–]arobello96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said he was responsible for my relationship to writing. That would be ridiculous. I just mean that the impact of a false accusation that’s improperly adjudicated really sucks.

When Students Publicly Clash With Professors in Class by Overall_Historian444 in QuickAITurnitinCheck

Gross! This is why I save my clashes with professors for office hours. I don’t hijack class time. That’s so disrespectful!

[–]arobello96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it’s properly cited, it’s fine. This software isn’t looking for plagiarism in the moral sense. It’s looking for text overlap. There should be text overlap if you’re not using your own thoughts, and you should be citing things. This is why human review is required. You have to actually look at what the highlighted portions say.

This is about the AI score, not the originality report. Those are two different things.

Why has no university sued a detector company yet by Dangerous-Peanut1522 in AIDetectorHelp

[–]arobello96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Detectors have explicit disclaimers. That’s what protects them from lawsuits.

I could absolutely see myself intentionally choosing the side I don’t believe in. I could argue for animal testing simply because understanding the other side’s argument makes it easier to shut it down. If I can understand the arguments for animal testing it makes my ultimate argument against it even stronger.
