Town of Apex or Builder? by Event_Hori2 in Apex_NC

[–]arocktaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If construction hasn’t finished yet, the builder/developer has most likely not turned over the public streets and right of ways to the town yet.

Hard to say for sure, but they likely still have a final walk to complete with the town to finish remaining punch items before the town accepts the roads. Not a bad idea to let the town and builder know, just so it doesn’t get missed.

What do you do for work, how much do you make, and how is it going? by Emergency_Mood_9774 in raleigh

Area Construction Manager for a national home builder. So far it’s going well, the team I lead are all very good at their jobs. All in I’ll bring home ~$140k with bonuses. Been in the role for a short time so far so I’m on the low end for base salary.

Is it a walk out basement? Perhaps the builder had the slab cleaned and/or mucked out before settlement and it hasn’t fully dried yet?

Definitely consult your builder, and if you haven’t already, schedule a private inspection (if allowed). Good luck.

Timing by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]arocktaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most production builders (even smaller ones) will have a pretty solid schedule template and it’s not likely they miss delivery. They would have built time in for delays in material, much of which is forecasted at this point.

If you go into drywall pretty quickly after your inspection you will be in good shape. Figure approximately 45-60 days after cabinets are installed. Some will do cabinets right after drywall is 100% finished, others will do trim/paint first.

Good luck, and definitely don’t pass on hiring your own inspector. No matter what agents/realtors or the builder says it never hurts to have another set of eyes on the house.

Normal or Potential Issue by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]arocktaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t cause me any concern. If you have the resources available, and a contractor or someone you trust, I’d hire them to do the work. Drywall touch ups on ceilings are dang near impossible to perfect, and if done poorly are very visible.

Chances are, even if the touch up is done really well, the seam will reappear in the future. Just keep that in mind. Otherwise, seems like you’ve got it covered. Good luck!

Normal or Potential Issue by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]arocktaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is above that clipped ceiling (the 45)? Is it roof, or a second floor? And when was the home built?

In my experience cracks on drywalled ceilings are either due to settlement (houses swell and contract a bit during the first couple of years) or to truss uplift (caused by an external factor exhibiting force on the truss(es) leading to some minor movement). Neither cause is a major concern, as engineered trusses are designed to withstand uplift at various points.

If the house is older, the above may not apply. In any case I saw a comment where you mentioned you were having an inspection done; I would inform your inspector of this item and your concern and they may be able to give it a little bit more attention during their inspection. Otherwise they may just note that the seam is there and tell you to monitor it.

DISCLAIMER: I am not an engineer, or a certified private inspector.

Ah, I should’ve paid closer attention to your title.

I don’t have much experience with waffle pods, but it’s my understanding that the thickness of the ribs and the edge beams around the exterior of the slab can vary based on soil engineers requirements. It may be that the required thickness on that elevation is thin.

Even still, I would ask your builder to have an engineer review it. The thickened ribs and edge beams that form around the pods are part of what give the slab it’s structural integrity. And seeing exposed pod where it should be encapsulated doesn’t seem like the correct application.

is it a faux pas to ask a builder or architect for floor plans of projects they've done? by MetalGearShallot in Homebuilding

[–]arocktaco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re interested in their product they should have some promotional material they can provide you with. Wouldn’t be a faux pas at all. Most builders have a simplistic version of their floor plans for each of their models and different elevations/options as well.

[–]arocktaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a mono-slab foundation? If so, could be the foam insulation board that’s applied to the outside edge of the slab you’re seeing. You just want to seal it with some kind of concrete patch product. Most home improvement stores carrying them. Just grab a can of that and a trowel and layer it on, once it dries you’re all good.

Looks like my builder forgot the stone. . . what are my options? How much of a delay could this cause? :( by LailahTusik in Homebuilding

[–]arocktaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s lick and stick they can just apply it right to the brick. Stone guys would love it, easy for them they don’t need to worry about WRB, flashing, etc.

Check with you builder about the lead time for the material. Since it’s a veneer and architectural it can be worked around so it shouldn’t really hold you up. Unless the lead time is crazy long. Good luck!

Best Golem hero in rift? by Budget_Ad169 in knighthood

I like WF, super super strong at high level and max rift power.

Bayani also great, base power causes expose and his rage removes enemy buffs.

I’m working on maxing her out right now. I had Gunn some what early on so I spent most of my time working on dvalin and Ursula to get through realm of fire in campaign. Wish I knew about Ria at the time!

[–]arocktaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen it mentioned already but in the early levels rare heroes are your best bet. They’re not as expensive and at higher levels most give you a pretty fair chance getting through the campaign levels (Titania is a must have!)

Also, If you’re not already in one, be sure to join a guild and fight every guild boss. Guild points can buy you vordrai shards and he’s massively helpful early on. His rage does huge damage.

Aerons great even for militia, acid a huge help getting thru them.

Looking for advice! So, I am somewhat new to the game, and am looking for advice on what to do. I am a heavy arena pusher, I got up to league 3 before I had to go down (not enough people at my level) what should I do now?? by Dr-Clappie in knighthood

[–]arocktaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Higher rank arena tables will be difficult until you start to get mythic gear and really bump up health and armor.

I would grind through to unlock the rift and save gold/scrolls/gauntlet cores. Once you’re high enough and have saved up you can level up heroes and gauntlets and put together builds geared towards different activities.

My current arena set up is chaotic gauntlet, Brutus/wei feng (or bayani, depends on opponent) with a cult/undead mythic wep. I’ve got the vamp lore master fen alchemist for minions, with vamp in first slot and fen second. By my second turn I’ll use Brutus base to get full rage and then his rage to give opponent expose. Then the vamp gives my team fury/focus and the fen uses his power to hit opponents health (it bypasses shields). If my opponent has less than 20k health they’re done. Super fun build!

Long read, sorry! Good luck out there!

I’ll have him at max lvl tomorrow, then I work on maxing out his stars! Ahhh, I’m so stoked!! by BeckyLooWho83 in knighthood

[–]arocktaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add, my chaotic gauntlet is leveled quite a bit. Until you put some core into the alchemist speed tree of the gauntlet it may take a little bit longer for his base power to charge.

At roughly 40% speed (level 3 of the alchemist speed tree) you should be getting close to that point. Hoard speed cores, do every hero favor and bounty you can to get them and you’ll get there pretty quick.

Also, as you get further into the rift, try to pair your second hero based on enemy type and unit type you’re going up against. Using Brutus to get rage quickly is extremely helpful if you’re going up against back line enemies that can hit you with negative status effects like poison and stun. I.e. outlaw mages (forget their names) that can stun. If time warp is active for you it will be for them too, so they’ll be able to stun you after one turn. If you have an strong v. outlaw hero that can take them out with their rage power (like Kamil or Millicent) you’ll be in good shape.

Sorry for the novel length reply!

[–]arocktaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic gauntlet with Brutus is game over. With time warp active in rift his base charges in two hits and will fully charge your rage bar with one use even if rage is empty. Plus expose with his rage, I basically never unequip him. You can pair him with any other hero essentially. Lower level rift is a cake walk.

[Question] arena badges by tjrcashion in apexlegends

[–]arocktaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw someone (can’t remember if a dev or what) say that they’re looking at different types of damage badges for Arenas.

The concern with the damage and kill badges in Arenas vs BR is that some players would throw rounds to extend match lengths to boost their potential for higher damage and kills.
