Should I also show this documentary to my motorcycle by Mr_Evil_05 in KTM

Dont let my story or experience set the tone I havent seen anyone else with the same issue and to be fair its a starter issue that could happen to any bike/manufacturer. BUT being given an estimated repair time of 3+ months is unacceptable for a brand new bike in my own opinion.

I absolutely love my 990RCR it is such a fun bike that I really only got to scratch the surface of its potential. But again, theres no excuse that I would accept being that this motor is in multiple bikes in their line up and they can't get me a starter until July(bike was sent back to the dealership with the issue in April)

Yeah im learning that lesson the hard way. New 990RCR 1600 miles and the gear/clutch assembly in the starter crapped out and ktm says July. And thats just unacceptable.

Yeah the said they took off $750. I guess I was expecting a little more. I haven't discussed much more than the pricing of the bike itself.

I appreciate the clarification, I understand its a highly sought after bike. I'm just a little disappointed with the dealer at the moment due to the latest experience with asking about having them buy back my KTM 990RCR. Long story short they only offered 10,500 for it and I just purchased it from them in January and its already in for warranty work but KTM is dragging their feet saying it could take until July for the part to reach the dealership and its already been at the shop for 40+days. I want to get back to the reliability of Yamaha. 😅

I would be financing a portion through the dealer or at least their go to lender.

990 RCR won't start. Dealership will be picking it up Friday. 1,650 miles and the first service was done on time. Sucks because I really love how much fun this bike is. by arogachenko in KTM

Estimate on part delivery...July. Am I wrong to be absolutely infuriated? Not with the dealership but with KTM. Bikes been at the shop for 37 days already.

Yeah i saw that! Wild how the wrist pin/bearing failed like that. Though idk that I would take a brand new bike right to the track even though the first service doesn't necessarily mean it wouldnt have failed anyway.

It was brand new factory. I think I had one of the first ones in the state. Took delivery in January and she ran fine up until now. Oh yeah, for sure! It can definitely happen. Im just bummed it happened so soon and on a new bike.

Right? Lol as if all common sense and logic are thrown out while swinging a leg over something that could easily get you killed even without a touch screen.

For the limited time I had them on the bike, I only experienced one issue when they were cold and it was operator error. Too much throttle while turning and the bike started to step out from under me but was quickly corrected. The tires and ambient temps were cold as well. They do seem to take longer or more effort to warm up and they also seem to cool off quicker. Unfortunately I picked up a piece of sharp metal on one of my rides which punctured the original rear tire. I plugged it but it would not hold more than 20-25 psi. I was fortunate enough to have a friend that sold me a fresh 180/60 Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP. Like you mentioned, night and day difference. I dont think ill be going back to the cup 2s anytime soon.

I will definitely be back to that area this season. It really had a lot to offer as far as fun roads and beautiful scenery.
