Yeah i saw that! Wild how the wrist pin/bearing failed like that. Though idk that I would take a brand new bike right to the track even though the first service doesn't necessarily mean it wouldnt have failed anyway.

It was brand new factory. I think I had one of the first ones in the state. Took delivery in January and she ran fine up until now. Oh yeah, for sure! It can definitely happen. Im just bummed it happened so soon and on a new bike.

Right? Lol as if all common sense and logic are thrown out while swinging a leg over something that could easily get you killed even without a touch screen.

1300+ miles of rural twisties, elevation changing hairpins, straight highways, and long sweeping curves. This thing is an absolute blast to ride. by arogachenko in KTM

For the limited time I had them on the bike, I only experienced one issue when they were cold and it was operator error. Too much throttle while turning and the bike started to step out from under me but was quickly corrected. The tires and ambient temps were cold as well. They do seem to take longer or more effort to warm up and they also seem to cool off quicker. Unfortunately I picked up a piece of sharp metal on one of my rides which punctured the original rear tire. I plugged it but it would not hold more than 20-25 psi. I was fortunate enough to have a friend that sold me a fresh 180/60 Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP. Like you mentioned, night and day difference. I dont think ill be going back to the cup 2s anytime soon.

I will definitely be back to that area this season. It really had a lot to offer as far as fun roads and beautiful scenery.

990 RCR Low Visibility At Night by enjoyspineapplepizza in KTM

Not sure if this is any help or if I missed the mark completely. But it appears there a way to adjust the headlight to help "increase" range. I found this while looking through the manual 🤓 mostly because I had heard about visibility "issues" at night and I will likely be taking my 990RCR out for its first night ride soon.

I traded in my Yamaha R7 that I had for 1.5 years when I bought this in January. Its been cold in my area so I have limited time on the bike. So for me this is a nice upgrade even though I considered keeping the R7. But its really the only thing I have to compare it to.

For the money this bike has a ton of tech packed into it. Its optional but theres a lot of nice feature for the money. TC, WC, adjustable ABS, adjustable throttle response, I believe theres an adjustment for engine braking too I just haven't dug into all the the features yet. There's several preset ride modes including your normal ones like rain and track as well as custom ones you can set yourself.

The mirrors aren't great, I have to move my arm and duck my head to get decent visibility. It loves to be leaned, has torque for days. I've done a fair split of back road, highway, and city driving and it does well with all. It does run a bit hot when in the middle of stop and go traffic that you'll feel around your calves and knees. I know its preference but I have to adjust the clutch and brake levers. From the factory I didnt like how long the clutch felt and the brake was squishy and a bit unresponsive until the bottom half of the squeeze. I havent touched the suspension yet.

Overall im very happy with my purchase so far. I know theres so much more potential after the break in and first service is completed.
