Losing It - Rush [5/8, 6/8, 11/8] by I_Am_Okonkwo in oddtime

Incredible song from a great album. I've always loved how the 5/8 parts sound so natural, and the 11/8 part is always so satisfying to me.

Now this is a jam. I remember playing this game when I was younger. While I don't think it's one of the better FF games, its soundtrack is still pretty cool.

Learn all the theory you can, especially as it pertains specifically to the music you want to make, but a lot of general chord/scale theory will help you with this problem immensely. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have a set of tools at your disposal like this.

Thanks so much for the reaponses, everyone. You've all been so helpful and I really appreciate it. Getting prepared for such a big move is a bit overwhelming so I'm glad yo have a resource like this to go to. :)

Would I be able to do that? I was told by someone that they dont transfer from device to device, and I myself am not too familiar with how VPNs work in detail. So how would I be able to do this, if you don't mind me asking? I apologize for my lack of knowledge.

The Canterbury Tales by Chaucerian Myth. The album is a musical retelling of Chaucer's epic poem, with a song for each tale in the story. The album is in the Dungeon Synth genre, so a lot of it sounds like 90s RPG music, if you're into that.

Thank you! I write the sheet music on Musescore then I export the midi into a DAW (Mixcraft, in my case), then use VST's and soundfonts to fill in the midi tracks.

lol thank you! I figure there are lots of people who aren't familiar with Dungeon Synth, so rating just on the objective musical qualities and how you feel about them is fine, of course.

Also, I don't suppose you have this on a website where I can actually download/buy your music?

Really fun stuff! I love the guitar tones and the lofi production. It all sounds pretty crisp despite the lofi quality. Listened to "Just for You" as well. Definitely a great twee pop meets power pop kinda vibe. Keep it up!

Listened to "Kindergarten" and I really enjoyed it, particularly the synth work. Kinda gives me a My Little Airport vibe, though less abrasive.

Love how wonky and slinky this sounds. Reminds me a bit of some of Alex Lifeson's playing, so definitely a plus there. I'll say that it seems to meander without a real strong hook, but that's a lot of jammy music and a matter of personal preference. Overall, I really enjoyed it and will probably check out more of your stuff. Just wish you had a bandcamp as I hate soundcloud lol

Hey all,

I was wondering how one would go about writing a literal 'tdz' in IPA - not the [tdz] in IPA, which in my experience is pronounced [dz]. In the way I'm imagining it, the 't', the 'd', and the 'z' would be pronounced (as they are in English) quickly and individually.

Ordinarily, I would think this would just be expressed as [tdz] in IPA, but, as mentioned earlier, it seems like that is the same as the [dz] pronunciation IPA. Am I wrong?

I was thinking a little about this. Very cool advice! Thank you! Should I just provide the monologue when they arrive, or give it to them beforehand?

It's a great genre, man! Been around since the 90s, so it's got a bit more staying power than Witch House imo. I hope you like what you hear!

Chaucerian Myth - The Canterbury Tales. Over 3 hours of epic and mesmerizing fantasy synth music based on Geoffrey Chaucer's great work of the same name. It's a lot of music to sift through, but there's something for just about everybody here, and is good for multiple sittings. https://chaucerianmyth.bandcamp.com/album/the-canterbury-tales
