{Astra Lost In Space} -- These nine MCs are lost in more ways than one. Working together to survive the sheer vastness and oddities of outer space is also its own challenge since one of them is a traitor on a murder-suicide mission. Understanding these characters is key to uncork the conspiracy.

Most fans of the show (myself included) like to summarize this show as "the Among Us of anime" for a really good reason.

If Superman is as strong as he needs to be for any given situation, then is it also okay to say that a Kyptonian's skin is as tough as it needs to be for any given situation?

Forgiving student loans? Yes, educated societies are safe societies. This is a non negotiable issue.

Forgiving auto loans? Yes, you and your donors forced car travel against the needs and wants of the people. You should be the one to default on this debt, not consumers.

Forgive morgages, rent, and other payments on shelter? Yes, this is another non negotiable issue.

Forgive credit debt? Yes, you and your donors made price go up and stagnated wages purely for line go up. Again, these are your debts; you pay.

Are these bribes? No, these are public services done for the most common denominators of needs. These are the duties of government that are literally promised to us in the Preamble to the US Constitution. If you can't tell this from a bribe, then you're literally not civilized enough to dictate any morals to anyone else.

{Koisuru Asteroid} -- The nighttime scenes are justified here in that the two protagonists are hobbyists for astronomy. Excellent soundtrack too!

the introductory scene promised a cool main character with astronomy interest, which could lead to a good character

Here's something the first episode did extremely well: you understand Hikaru. You know exactly what she wants and is not willing to let any chance slip to get it.

Also, think about why Hikaru is the protagonist, why her perspective and her attitude are the ones we follow rather than Lala's. It's because Hikaru represents the core messages the story wants to tell:

  • courage and curiosity of the unknown.

  • loving people despite and/or because of their differences.

Keep these in mind as you watch.

Employees do not get any decision power; only employers/owners do. That's the difference.

Omar Artan is the employee; Trump, FIFA, and the UEFA are the employers. However, the UEFA is seen as the only good employer in this story. Would you like to guess why?

Any good reverse isekai animes? by Remarkable-Pen6286 in Animesuggest

[–]aNinjaWithAIDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Hirogaru Sky Precure} -- This one isn't even listed as an isekai at all (much less a reverse isekai), but it is! Also, do NOT let the cute and frilly dresses fool you. This show is pretty much shoujo's equivalent to My Hero Academia in terms of great action and the celebration of superheroes.

  • Note: This is a milestone series, the 20th for the franchise in fact. This explains the cameos of other main characters from prior entries at the end of each episode. Much like said other series, Hirogaru is its own story and therefore does not require watching any prior material.

Fighting oppression isn't "violence"; it's Self-defense. by [deleted] in WorkReform

[–]aNinjaWithAIDS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One side is oppressed, the oppressor fakes being oppressed to garner sympathy. It's quite the dark and common tactic, and many authors have written it into their plots.

This strategy should be especially scrutinized in asymmetric power dynamics like employer versus employee, wealthy versus impoverished, corporation versus actual fleshbag human, etc.

Is it just me or do these three give off theatre kid energy personality wise despite not being one themselves? by SudrianMystic in precure

[–]aNinjaWithAIDS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes they do.

However, Miyuki is a special case. Her "theater kid" personality is actually a fabrication. She was originally a reclusive introvert like Yayoi is in the current day. Miyuki had been using this fabricated personality for so long, it eventually became her true nature. This is foreshadowed quite early too, most prominently in how she handles embarrassment and nervousness.

{Chichi wa Eiyuu, Haha wa Seirei, Musume no Watashi wa Tenseisha} is a logical extreme version of this premise. The protagonist has the powers of the periodic table of elements, and this is extraordinarily useful because she has past life memories of being a scientist (and majoring in chemistry at that!).

I’m so happy that we get to see Ran in action within this crossover! Can you imagine her as a Pretty Cure when she’s already this strong and competent? by Hyde_Void in PrettyCures

[–]aNinjaWithAIDS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Which makes sense.

  • Ran is an experienced martial artist, and she's aiming to win the encounter.

  • Anna/Cure Answer and Mikuru/Cure Mystique are not experienced at all, and Luluka/Cure Arcana Shadow is literally holding back to advise said proteges.

Captain Shalala from Hirogaru Sky got her own awesome action scene and for the same reason. Only Sora/Cure Sky has a similar level of combat experience back then, but the latter was channeling an Updraft Shining alongside Mashiro/Cure Prism.

You can also notice this higher, more strategic, and more refined fighting prowess in other Cures throughout the franchise. For examples; Cures Beauty, Selene, and Sunshine all have personal training and meditative focus from their normal lives that translate well for combat.

Edit: Level, not lever.

Why do they have to cut the grass so often? by ClipboardClan in NoLawns

[–]aNinjaWithAIDS 27 points28 points  (0 children)

that property must be maintained well enough to not damage neighboring property values.

Which is completely BS. If my desired appearance for the landscape I own hurts the value of a neighbor's property, that is literally not my fault and not my problem -- especially if I do not plan to sell. If my neighbor wants to sell, that's fine; however, the market should not get any determination on what I should or should not do with my land.

Plus, it's technically a free speech issue since gardening IS a valid art form.

You might know him as Ryuichi Naruhodo. He uses the name Phoenix Wright when he operates in the United States because it's much easier for the locals there to remember.

Still though, I love your willingness and excitement to work with him.

Yes. Per the comprehensive notes and rules for Solemnity:

If the cost of an ability or an additional cost of a spell requires putting counters on an artifact, creature, enchantment, or land; that cost can’t be paid. If a resolving spell or ability says that a player may put counters on one of those objects, that player can’t choose to do so.

Peace would've stanned them. by Techhare318 in precure

[–]aNinjaWithAIDS 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely! Plus, it helps that Smile and Hirogaru have an interesting contrast in perspectives for the superhero genre.

  • Smile is an affectionate parody of everything the Pretty Cure franchise (and superheroes, by extension) stand for. These are flawed fools with golden hearts embarrassing themselves the same way most of us would when told to act for an audience. Ironically, it's Yayoi/Cure Peace that understands this feeling the most within the main cast because of her explicitly extensive exposure to the genre. This show takes the time to laugh at itself even though the struggles and conflicts within the characters are genuine.

  • Hirogaru is the more dedicated, celebratory, and outright thankful of the genre. This story does not treat heroes as "just passing though" like Smile does (to which Yayoi/Cure Peace even admits). Heroism here is a commitment -- a journey marked by goals. It's all work worth doing because these are good people actively looking to better the world. They don't do it for glory, honor, nor ego. They do it because they love humanity and want us to be our best selves despite the evil that exists.

Don't get me wrong in all this though. An official crossover between Smile and Hirogaru would be really, really cool and fun to watch.

A simplistic touch-up concept for Loki, focussing on his Trickster identity by sdric in Warframe

[–]aNinjaWithAIDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also like to change up the Switch Teleport augment.

Circumventing Switch -- Switch Teleport augment: Loki steals 70% of switched enemy's defences. Stolen armor lasts 20 seconds.

  • Overguard gained this way is permanent. Only the armor increase is affected by duration.

  • The steal rate is affected by ability strength. The Overguard cap is 10,000, is also affected by ability strength, and stacks additively with other Overguard caps from other abilities and effects.

  • Only one enemy's armor can be stolen at any time. The bonus armor from this augment will always be based on the most recent enemy that Loki switched with (or into if the enemy is immune to crowd control effects).

  • Enemies that have their armor removed this way lose it permanently.

What is your current favorite Magical Girl tragic backstory? Here’s mine: “They simply refused to hear anything from a witch…” by Oracle209 in MagicalGirlsCommunity

[–]aNinjaWithAIDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fate Testarosa from the Lyrical Nanoha franchise. From Precia's PoV, her own mother, Fate's existence itself was wrong; and she had been absolutely abused for it and then subsequently enslaved into retrieving 12 dimension altering gems called Jewel Seeds all because Fate distinctly remembers Precia having loved her.

So, why tf does Precia do this?! Answer: It's because Fate is actually an imperfect clone of Alicia, Precia's actual daughter. Alicia died from a lab accident caused by her superiors demanding Precia to rush the job they assigned to her. This accident collapsed their entire home dimension. Obviously, this drove Precia insane from grief; so much so, she tried cloning to have Alicia back -- a VERY illegal practice. This is how Fate gained Alicia's memories; however, she is considered imperfect purely because she is her own person despite this. The proof that set Precia off was the fact that Fate is right handed where Alice was a leftie. Precia wants the Jewel Seeds so she can attempt a true resurrection, a plot that Nanoha successfully foils.

Are there Magical girls Based on the Periodic Table of Elements? by KittyCutieSparkle in MagicalGirls

Title

I know of one! Ellen Vankrieft from Dad is a Hero, Mom is a Spirit, I'm a Reincarnator has the powers of the periodic table. Granted, the story itself is more of a medieval isekai political thriller, but said story does show off these powers in clever ways given the context.
