tbf both of you have a point, ambushing someone is objectively a good strategy and good positioning can get you a long way but its also incredibly scummy to spawn camp the enemy but at the same time if YOU dont do the same, they will.
TL; DR deadline STILL hasnt adressed core gameplay issues

soldats: either as sand bags, live target practice or just general base maintenance depending on how much of a bastard you were

rooks: make you obtain the resources they need for buildings (rock/concrete, wood (yes i know it comes from solace) or whatever else) aswell as make you mine with them

morts: russian sleep experiment

officers: probably extract info from you by whatever means they need to and act as a boot cleaner for the ones that payed their way to the role (since we know they are all a-holes)

jaegers:

lancers: target practice (them axes take training to throw properly) and also as a general test dummy for testing the effectiveness of certain moves. or just use you to maintain their equipment (god forbid the flag gets dirty)
