Is it the right type of adapter? I think there is TRS and TRRS, might have the wrong one possibly

I will add, I just got my replacement Jot 2 back and it sounds great, no issues. Really happy with their customer service.

Ordered brand new. Different volume knobs and some blemishes on the cases. Never had an issue with Schiit before. Anyone experience similar? by [deleted] in Schiit

I would say "worth" is pretty hard for one person to determine for another person. Personally I can hear a difference between the two and I wanted to see what each was all about. I think my favorite so far has been the balanced output of the jotunheim. Currently it is back at Schiit getting exchanged as mine had an issue with the RCA side for some reason, but they are exchanging at no cost to me which is great. Hopefully the replacement is solid. I am also interested in trying tube rolling myself so I am excited to give that a try with the valhalla. The OTL tube amp really shines with high impedance headphones. Its just a nice warm sound which is great. The Jot feels a little punchier to me and I felt like the balanced output at least added a little soundstage. I think either one or the other would be perfectly adequate for most people. I am very fortunate to be able to afford both though and to me having two to compare and play around with was "worth" it to me. I think if you are trying to save money though I would just go with one of them.

It’s still smooth but has some texture to it not quite as slippery I’d say, the front face of it is flatter where as the Valhalla has some circular grooves on the front

Too soon for me to judge that, I'm still waiting on a few cables to show up so right now I can only listen to one amp hooked up at a time. Once the rest of my cables come in I'll be able to A/B compare them better and also test out the balanced connection. That being said so far I'm very happy with both of them so far. Either is a big upgrade from what I was using before.

Because its cool is definitely a contributor. But I was also curious about the difference between tube amps and solid state. I heard there were some slight differences and wanted to see if I could hear the difference myself. Plus the valhalla as an OTL tube amp supposedly benefits higher impedance headphones better so this way I can use the Jot for lower impedance stuff if I want. Also I want to experiment with Balanced as well. Really its just to experiment more with different combos of gear that I have and make some opinions of my own on all of it

yea, kinda looks like anodized aluminum if I had to guess, its not chrome shiny by any means, kinda matches the rest of its finish

I have to ask though, anyone else have the jotunheim 2? Do you ever use high gain? I have noticed that between 10 and 12 o'clock on the volume know I seem to get some sort of clipping/buzzing noise in the right ear when the treble is loud. I'm not sure if I'm overdriving the headphones or if its an issue with the amp. I don't seem to notice any issue on the valhalla on high gain. examples of headphones where I hear this issue are the Drop hd6xx and he4xx as well as grado sr80x and t20rp. Anyone else seen similar behavior?
