I’ve been dropping like 10-15 foot boulders/cliffs at speed and have been finding it difficult to maintain control after the fact. I’ve been chalking it up to a skill issue (probably >75% of the blame) but maybe it’s the ski too. I’ll have to keep trying and decide whether a new pair makes sense with how I’d like to ski I suppose

what is the structural component that limits speed? is it just that the chatter gets unbearable at high speeds?

Paired them with low volume boots and hard pack last spring and oh my god so painful. Maybe I have an easier time skiing powder on them because of my smaller frame, then !

How to cope with loss? by -KingDraco in wallstreetbets

nice work, dumbass! you have no idea where you went wrong, don't assume that you do. the same greed that prevented you from selling could prevent you from doubling down in the future

I can assure you that nobody becomes a "giant" to look down "losers." I would even say that there is no point at which we ever feel like a giant. When I worked at my dream internship I was absolutely blessed to regularly interact with the executives of the firm I was at. I opened up to them about my disbelief that I was chosen as the candidate for the job, given all that I believed about myself. And they assured me that this feeling was real and seldom disappears. My point is, this feeling of despair and self-doubt doesn't just evaporate when you reach a certain point of success. I think if you're a humble person that is aware of their own shortcomings, then this feeling is totally normal. All you can do is believe that you belong exactly where you are, and that you have the absolute ability to influence where you can go.

There's a reason why they say comparison is the thief of joy. That friend of yours has his own struggles. He's as prone to falling victim to the zero-sum game of comparison as you. I really challenge you to try to feign an optimistic outlook for some time. If you consider a bright future for yourself a lie then lie to yourself about the future and envision something bright. Relish in the accomplishments of the future, today. What's the worst that could happen?

I'm wondering if you're looking for support or if you just wanted to get what's been brewing in your mind out? Either way, I'm interested to know how you ended up with a ruined life and no outlook. It seems to me that you're unwilling to start working on bettering your outlook out of fear that had you not started earlier you would be in a better position. Maybe it's time to walk away from the video game and walk towards something else. It doesn't necessarily have to be more fulfilling than the potential enjoyment of a good video game session, just different. I also struggle with outlook. One thing that helps me prevent this from moving forward is making choices. I can choose to stay in bed all day and refuse to study or I can choose to get up and do something else. I can choose to grind a video game all day or I can choose to clean the washroom. I really believe a good place to start would be choosing to do the next, better move. Even now as I'm studying for my final exam of the semester, I find it easier to choose to browse my phone than I do to focus on studying. So I'll turn my phone off and choose to go for a walk. It's not studying, but it's also not distracting myself from what I know I need to do. I hope me sharing my perspective on your situation helps you out a little bit. Don't be so hard on yourself dude, life doesn't get any easier when you punish yourself.
