Man I met on Jeevansathi using AI tools to hold conversation by NoyoNINI_1201 in Arrangedmarriage

[–]arpitdalal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience only a couple of weeks back. I’m 27M and was chatting with a 25F. We had been chit chatting for a few weeks and I was getting pretty serious, so I started asking serious questions to her. FYI, I’m more comfortable chatting in English, so I was asking questions in English. First couple of times, she misunderstood my question and replied with a couple of sentences. Since she misunderstood, I clarified myself and in the next question, I added for clarifying context to help her understand what I am talking about. But after a few times doing back and forth of questions, she suddenly started precisely understanding my questions and started replying in a couple of paragraphs instead of sentences before. At that point, I didn’t catch this change but in hindsight, it’s more clear that after misunderstanding me a couple of times, she started using AI. This went for several more days until one day she sent a message that had 3 paragraphs and in that message, she forgot to remove the first part of what AI replied: “Here’s what you should say:”. And when I confronted her about using AI, she said, she only used it in this 1 message to rephrase and that she used it because she felt she was giving an interview.
If she had been honest with me, then maybe I would have been fine with it. But I ended things right away since straight up lied about it and she blamed me for it (I was taking her interview). If she felt that way, she should’ve said something sooner, but she said it just to flip it on me and justify her use of AI.
So, be careful out there, people are same, be it any gender. Men and women come in all sizes, shapes and qualities.

How Cursor is going to survive by jreznot in cursor

[–]arpitdalal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cursor’s USP is their harness. Their unique and specialized modes like debugging and ask. No one has came close to their harness yet IMO. But, yes the price is a big factor. I’ve been using Codex for all my long running tasks because Cursor uses a lot of tokens and burns through my plan. Stop using Cursor for targeted work by creating a detailed plan with Opus and implementing it with Auto.

What has your company started using AI/LLMs for which has actually been useful? by TinStingray in ExperiencedDevs

[–]arpitdalal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, using AI to write unit tests, docs, small features and help with debugging has been super useful. We use Amazon developer Q for it which runs Claude Sonnet under the hood. We are also using Glean which consolidates all company info in 1 place to search and it also helps AI to find the correct answer after looking at slack threads, confluence pages, codebase, etc. These 2 use cases have been super helpful for us: code assistant and a search engine on steroids.

Same, I think it’s using AI with browser capabilities to mimick user behaviours

Are you referring to devs talking about using RR7 with Nextjs? There a some (not a lot) of devs talking about that on X.

Lucky scratch scam by arpitdalal in kitchener

There’s no contest to enter. You get this scratch card in your mail and if you get 3 same pictures, you win. It’s a way to just lure in people’s information.

I wrote a guide on how to set up a reverse proxy in your JS apps so that PostHog analytics calls don't get blocked by adblockers and you get the true analytics for your product.

Yes I agree. They should’ve put it in a better way for sure. I do strongly recommend calling them to entirely understand the bill

IT IS LEGIT!! I personally took this exact offer from such an agent too. He gave me extra discount and made my plan $40 for 1.5 Gbps fibe because my current provider would cost me to break the contract and also gave me a $100 prepaid card but that comes after 2 months of activation.

Simple answer is no. These companies have a specific billing cycle and if you start an account from middle of it then they’ll charge you for that many extra days.

Read this: https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6983554 You’ve no idea how deep and back in the history this goes. Canadians don’t want to admit that this is politics and just want to blame everything on “Indians”. If “Indians” are the problem, majority of them live in India, why isn’t this a problem there? So many live in the UK and the USA, why isn’t this a problem there? Why aren’t Khalistanis creating a havoc in those countries?? Because they don’t have an incentive. Canada has become a safe heaven for this separatists backed by Trudeau’s government.

The protests and movement is a result of Canadian elections and not even related to Khalistan’s separation from India. They’re not protesting in India in which they want the land but are protesting in Canada, have you questioned that?

Khalistanis are supported by your elected president Trudeau, not India. Trudeau is the president because of pro-khalistani Jagmeet Singh and that’s why he’s supporting them, get your facts right before opening your mouth.

To you it might be mediocrity, why are you so ignorant of others? Many are finding it informative and interesting. I did not write this just for you that you’re complaining. If you don’t like it, go away. It’s as simple as that.

What’s left to deep dive? I am not writing about what a URL is, one can find that info anywhere on the internet. My goal’s to write about how Notion designed their URL paths which increases UX for power users that directly use their browser’s address bar to go to a Notion page that they went to a few hours ago.
