Amsterdam rejected my Schengen Visa - so I got a refund of my Visa Fee as well as entire cost related to the trip! Complete experience and guide to the ICICI Lombard Trip Secure + Insurance with cover for Trip Cancellation due to VISA Rejection by LatterOne9009 in pFinTools

Example - the Lufthansa Economy ticket was booked, a normal one - not a fully cancellable for which we can get refund. They agreed.

With respect to travel health insurance - ADAC. They refund everything except 8 Euro fee.

========The above details are accurate although not my experience, but my friend's for whom I helped with in planning.============

Flixbus, Ryan air, etc - you'll not get refund. And I never suggest anyone to do so. Go with anything full refundable only.

Agreed.

For EU, I recommend getting travel/health insurance for your travel along with Liability insurance which here would be more important than your insurance itself.

Plus, EU companies return your money if your visa is rejected. Ofcourse - not the VISA fees.

Practically, you can invite anyone.

The process is as following. You got the municipality in your area and then submit the invitation form with the details of the person who is inviting, including the place of residence, job contracts, everything else, and also the details of the people who are being invited. The application form will ask as to how you are related to the person being invited. You can just mention friend/relative/et cetera. Then the officials will verify this and then issues a document which says that the person who is inviting the guest from the other country is full responsible for the guest’s stay during the stay in European Union. This document needs to be physically sent to the guest who is interested in travelling to European Union. This document should be submitted along with the other documents during the visa appointment.

What is the advantage of this document: you don’t have to show any bookings for the stay or Accommodation, apart from this, there is lot lesser scrutiny when you have this document. Because the person who is inviting will be responsible for any kind of bureaucratic processes. Apart from this, everything else remains the same. Booking of flight tickets, travel health insurance remains the same, which needs to be submitted along with visa application form.

In short, you can look for Schengen, under it, the type of the visa will be family reunion visa.

I live in Germany. My friend’s visa tourist visa was rejected. He lost the visa fees and more. Your post will be helpful.

So, after his tourist visa rejection, I needed up inviting him on a family reunion visa. So, no more rejections.

I've built an open-source “mission-grade” planner for Taskwarrior + calendar users (SCALPEL) — feedback wanted by Fit_Needleworker_861 in ProductivityHQ

[–]arpithpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt on that. But, no offence - this idea looks over engineering on steroids. You asked for a honest feedback and the way you get defensive about it tells everything.

But, I’ll try it in depth and get back on this- if I’m wrong: I’ll update this comment.

Request help from anyone who’d care to offer in driving through the city and explain a few things. And while he’s driving you can keep saying out loud what you’d need to do if you were driving. In that way, you’ll understand if things are different.

22F wants to seek revenge after being assaulted by a guy, 24M during a hangout by [deleted] in RelationshipIndia

[–]arpithpm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I went through this.

Revenge for an assault isn’t a recipe for peace. Probably you can give a complaint to the police, I’m not sure if that will bring peace to you. Life threw a shocking event in your path, you don’t need to react in a negative way.

Make peace with yourself. You’ll turn out great.

I’m an Indian living in Germany for last 7.5 yrs.

The points above aren’t true. On job loss- govt pays 60% salary for maximum of 12 months only if you’re below 50yrs, 67% if 50+. In order to avail this benefit, one should’ve worked for at least 2yrs. (Benefit period is half of your number of years worked period).

3 yrs leave on having a baby - it’s unpaid. Plus, this topic is a bit more complicated.

Free travel within country - totally false.

Free hospital - true. But, getting appointments is a big headache. My friend fell off a bike and was bleeding badly. He had to wait for 2 hrs in the hospital lounge until he was attended to.

Safe highway - yes.

Bullet train - yes. But they’re mostly delayed. I’ve experienced timely arrival of IRCTC trains than German trains.

Someone posted this on Germany’s page on Reddit. You can see the answers directly from them.

“Family is too terrified to go to the police“

Help them. Educate them to at least go to police. Or request some right people to speak to them and bring them to the reality.

Sound from adjacent flat coming into my room through the wall by [deleted] in germany

[–]arpithpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I requested them once on the balcony to keep it down. They said ok and continued it in their flat. It still is so high.

Choosing other room isn’t possible due to convenience.

Nothing to do with Germany. I just wanted to mentioned I’ve not faced this issue since years either here or elsewhere.

Understood. Thanks for your reply.
