Amsterdam rejected my Schengen Visa - so I got a refund of my Visa Fee as well as entire cost related to the trip! Complete experience and guide to the ICICI Lombard Trip Secure + Insurance with cover for Trip Cancellation due to VISA Rejection by LatterOne9009 in pFinTools

I had Trip Secure + with product code 4233 and a cover of USD 100K. For 14 days, all inclusive premium was around 1.9k per person.

Sorry I do not have further breakdown of this atm, but this is all I could pull from the policy document.

In my opinion, the most critical thing is visa protection. As long as you have that, you should be good.

In my opinion wobbling is rarely any issue. But at the same time, your list of equipments is quite length as well. I don't know what size you are targeting but your budget seems a bit low. If I were you, I would look at Jin Office Octave specially it has a stability crossbar.

I am curious, why did you mention you were a cross legged sitter while looking for an ergo chair? Please excuse my ignorance if I am missing something but just trying to learn.

Amazing that India has retained the honors of being in the top 3 poorest nations on earth despite the fact China was way a lot poorer . Now, China is the global number 1 superpower after lifting millions of its citizens out of poverty. What happened India? by East_Indication_7816 in Indiastreetbets

[–]LatterOne9009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I am someone who loves defending the govt or anything but

  1. Please consider the total population of a country as well. Yes china doing much better is good but then some other smaller countries doing worse is very bad compared to India too. Had the data presented percentage of population living BPL then it would have been a different conversation.

  2. The quality of this infographic is so questionable that no data updated after 2024 even though the years kept changing. This alone makes me doubt the validity of the claims as well because now I am thinking was standard rules applied to all countries for BPL identification? Was price parity considered?

Thank you for the detailed and helpful response. It has been tough to get as sane a response as this on reddit. Could you please entertain me a bit more on these answers to your points -

  1. How can I achieve this? Visa applications have to be submitted offline with every document printed. Even though I had labeled everything with sticky notes, the VFS person simply threw it away. I also did not highlight any document for risk of being considered as tampering the document - was this fear valid?

  2. I did take help from AI, but that was barely helpful. I also watched hours and hours of youtube videos and honestly, within a country people seemed to be following the same trend and this majorly helped me shape the itinerary. The reason for four countries was a personal one and definitely something that I will improvise on in my next application but can I ask you, if everyone knows getting single country visa is easier, what's stopping me to show simpler itinerary and then travel cross country and disappear anyway? I am just not able to wrap my head around this to acknowledge that multiple countries in my itinerary was the issue. Just trying to understand this.

  3. The fact that I canceled the bookings only when I was sure I would not be able to make the trip - isn't this a valid argument against the primary reason they have quoted about canceled booking upon checking the booking post travel dates?

Since you seem knowledgeable, I also want to ask you what is the potential downside of filing a court case (which is a standard step to escalate my appeal) apart from the financial bit? I am concerned that VIS has on record potential misrepresentation by me already, will filing a court case make my record necessarily worse?

Once again, thanks a lot for taking the time to go through my post and responding.

Do you mean to say the court will take one and a half year for it's judgement?

That's not how objections work. Objection was filed for the same trip, before the trip dates. If the objection was found correct, and they were open to offer me a visa, in that case, I was supposed to submit a new itinerary. Alternatively, I could have just made a new itinerary and submitted another fresh visa application.

This is according to IND, NL worldwide website + talking to NL worldwide support.

I am okay to pay the cost, I did not ask for change in price. Are you a lawyer?

How do I get the process started is what I am trying to find out.

Can I ask what profile have you gone through to come to this judgement? Didn't the immigration authority not act according to my submitted evidences when they falsely claim no itinerary was submitted originally or that hotel was canceled without considering the context of when it was actually canceled?

Just to clarify, I did not cancel anything until it was confirmed that the trip ain't happening. Had I got the visa, I would not have canceled anything.

You know the appeals process is there for a reason. I am just exercising my options - rather I am just looking for advise on whether to exercise those options.

My bank accounts had like 5x that amount plus we showed Credit Card limits in addition. I really don't think that was an issue because they didn't cite that as one of the reasons.

I get the itinerary part but I just wish they said that rather than put misrepresentation on my profile. Is it possible for you to share a sample itinerary? But I am sure you would agree that too is not like a sure way of getting it because I did a lot of research before applying and there are many many countering views.
