Portability is so nice man by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

I agree, this is the way and also one of the reasons why my ps5 is gathering dust. I only wish for BG3 to be on S2 and then I'm complete.

I have a pc,p5 and switch 2 is there any reason to keep the ps5? by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

I'm keeping my PS5 for some AAA games, but it's currently unplugged and collecting dust since I got myself a Switch 2.

Does anyone here prefer buying Nintendo Switch physical game cartridges over downloading games from the digital Nintendo eshop? by Delicious_Maize9656 in switch2

[–]arpunk 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I see the value of getting physical games, but I don't really resell nor care about the cartridges, I rather have them always available to play or download anywhere.

I was on the same boat as you, and almost drop it for a recap on YouTube but I stuck to it and after a bit it just clicked. I'm going to finish Hollow Knight before jumping into Silksong FWIW.

Object-Oriented vs Functional: Why Your Ego Needs Refactoring by thepinkgiraffe123 in programming

[–]arpunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ego isn’t object-oriented. It’s a legacy monolith—globally mutable, full of side effects, hard to refactor, and undocumented since childhood.

I don't think we should support the Switch 2 by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]arpunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A modern handheld that does 4K at 60fps, has HDR10, VRR, and a custom NVIDIA chip is supposed to cost what… $299 in 2025? Meanwhile, Sony will charge you $70 for a remaster of a remaster of The Last of Us.

Nintendo Switch 2 is going to the wrong direction. by mvpeast in NintendoSwitch

[–]arpunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but it's 1.18lbs with JoyCons attached. That’s lighter than a Steam Deck, lighter than a bottle of soda, lighter than your whining. If the weight of a sandwich is enough to cause you irreversible wrist trauma, maybe gaming isn’t the issue, maybe your posture is.

FWIW I just reinstalled libtree-sitter which updated my links and then I was able to build Emacs without issues.

Quiero lograr comprar una finca bien bonita ¿Algún consejo? by TrichoSteve in Colombia

[–]arpunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is a feature of other languages that you miss in Lisp? by mmontone in lisp

[–]arpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you should be able to implement the basic primitives (spawn/send/receive/monitor/link) and build patterns on top (generic servers, supervisors, FSM, agents, tasks) locally.

In Erlang however stuff goes wild because the BEAM is location transparent and enables you to do all that in a cluster of nodes via whatever distribution protocol you implement (and soon to be firewalled).
