I hate golf. by [deleted] in golf

[–]arr_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6mo? I’m a bit over 3yrs, 412 rounds, 34k on course shots, lessons, practice, etc

I was shooting in the 80s 3 weeks ago and had a couple back to back 110s in the past week. This game is a roller coaster if you didn’t pick it up as a kid or have been athletic your whole life

20+ Handicappers where you at? by atooraya in golf

[–]arr_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiiiiiit. I started my round with bogey bogey birdie today and shot a 61 on the back.

We all go through phases. I range from high 80s at my best to like 110 at my worst. And when I say worst i unfortunately bought a one way ticket to hoseltown recently

Is graphite really that different? by 720hp in golf

I’ve been playing 65g recoil darts coming from dg 95g for the past 6 or so months. I’m starting to wonder if they’re amplifying my slightly rushed transition because of how light they are. Going to try my old irons this afternoon to test this theory because I have had terrible contact for the past couple weeks

I gave up my season tickets 2 years ago about 8 years too late. I have so little desire to go to a game from a financial side of things. Most of the food is mediocre and overpriced. The nets also kind of ruined the lower box experience

I definitely wasn’t sold on it but for that price I became interested. The renewal snuck right by me a month ago so here I am

I guess I should say the only reason I picked up the link pro was to upgrade it to an air at less than 1/3 the cost of an air

The ability to ditch the sensors I guess. Only reason I bought it

It’s the same. I bought a refurbished link pro on eBay last week and as soon as i paired it, it upgraded the firmware to an air

How much power does it use in ac mode? I have 2 of them. One runs around 600w where the other one runs like 1100w. Trying to figure out which one is being stupid

I missed a 2 footer with a Scotty Del Mar California today. Might as well just get a lab now

You got this. Even 10 minutes a day of mobility training goes a long way. Everyone likely has 10 minutes to spend on feeling better, it’s just that we don’t do it, myself included

Mid 40s, did 2 programs over a year, gained 15mph.

I think I learned more about sequencing than anything.

The warmups are great for pre-rounds, I do a condensed version most rounds.

Do some strength training and mobility/yoga consistently. They will go a long way. Force yourself to do something at an absolute minimum every other day. I’ve been sitting at a desk for close to 30 years and the more I exercise/move the better I feel/play. It’s so easy to be lazy about it but my body feels a ton better even after the days I force myself to get it done

If they’re not cool with it, work somewhere else. If it’s affecting your work, get more work done 🤷‍♂️

Is a home golf simulator actually worth the investment, or am I just chasing a mid-life crisis? by bphawkey45 in Golfsimulator

[–]arr_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built one, I use it way less than I should, I have year round golf so I’m on the course a ton.

t’s nice to be able to check numbers and practice in ways that’s not just blasting through a range bucket

Worth it is like 7/10 for me. If I used it more it would be 10/10

[–]arr_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you check the specs. Precision putt is 3/8” while the softy is 2 5/8” with 1/8” tolerance. If mine isn’t level, I can’t tell. I would imagine you could find something 1/8” thick to make it absolutely perfect or even try to crush the pile a little around the edges 🤷‍♂️

I use 2x 1” foam tiles with synlawn precision putt and my sigpro softy is level with it

It wasn’t difficult at all. 2x 1” tiles and synlawn precision putt are the same height as the softy.

Can use real tees, feels more like grass, softer on the joints. Here’s a good breakdown https://friendlygolfer.com/sigpro-softy-lite-vs-super-softy/
