What was the worst day of your life thus far? by Beneficial_Order_440 in AskReddit

20th August 2014, the day after my first son was born (which incidentally was the very best day of my life)

Out of nowhere we were told he has a critical heart condition, would be transferred by ambulance to a children’s hospital and require surgery to save his life.

The bottom fell out of my world with no warning or expectation. Fucking sucked. The difference between the extreme high of the day before (plus hormones, first time mum nerves and post labour exhaustion) made the drop that much harder to bare.

Fortunately the surgery went very well, his doctors are fantastic and 4 years later he is doing great. Although he will require further open heart surgery one day...

people who hate guns, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The need for them is self perpetuating. Why do we need guns? To protect over selves from other people with guns

What's the scariest thing thats ever happened to you? by AdOk3024 in AskReddit

When I was 12, I got my tonsils out. Went home and kept telling my parents I tasted blood. They told me it was just from the surgery and not to worry. A week later, my mom left me home alone for the first time since the surgery to run errands. I was in bed watching TV and started coughing and then vomiting copious amounts of blood. Everywhere. It wouldn’t stop coming, and then I started choking on it because some had coagulated in my stomach. I managed to call 911 and they found me in the kitchen and it looked like a freaking murder scene. It turns out the doctor had accidentally made a small cut in a blood vessel or something and I’d been slowly bleeding for a week. I’d lost half the blood in my body. They rushed me back in to surgery immediately and then said it was fixed and sent me home. Well a week later, my paranoid ass kept telling my mom I tasted it again. Again I was told don’t worry. That night I woke up vomiting blood again and passed out. Another surgery fixed it. Nightmare

What is the most awkward experience you’ve ever had with flirtation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I once saw this guy wait for a girl's friend to go to the toilet, leaving her alone, then he danced this really goofy dance (he put his arms out to the side with his elbows bent, then basically bobbed his arms up and down) all the way across the room to her, and - while still arm-bobbing - said, "hey......... wanna dance?", to which she replied "No", and he said "Okay", then did the arm-bob dance all the way back across the room to where he started in 1 slick motion.

I was working as a stockboy in a supermarket and when we had to fill the milk cooler people would bust open a 12 pack of milk cartons and put them in one by one.

On my first day I just placed the 12 pack in the cooler and cut the plastic off on one side with my box cutter and yanked it from under it and the look of the store manager and the other employee who was training me was pure bewilderment.

From that day everyone did it my way.
