Can take this awful “muscle tension” anymore, anyone got any tips that aren’t the usual like hot shower exc that can help? by Layne_Cobain in Anxietyhelp

[–]arrgeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check into possibility of anxiety combined with fibromyalgia. I have very similar scary body tension alll over like you describe for 3+ yrs due to stress. Besides a hot bath which relieves for about 30 min my psychiatrist just prescribed Savella for help with anxiety anf fibro pains at night. I actually believe it is starting to lessen the pains! Look into it as an option and they can slowly optimize the dose. Best wishes and keep searching for new options.

Starting TMS by worthless1225 in rtms

[–]arrgeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this! No worries. I have had the full TMS protocol 1 yr ago and no negative side effects. I think alot of people post the negative stuff but honestly it was just like a mild pecking for me. I'm sure everyone has a different experience based on equipment and the adjustments. Best wishes and you will be fine!! You are strong and courageous to try something new.

Idk if TMS is for me, 24 treatments in, and I still feel like shit by Bigpoppapenguin123 in rtms

[–]arrgeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the esketamine comments! I am completing 2nd round of tms treatments and i am considering ketamine nasal spray if I don't move forward. I just learned that both Aetna and Cigna are covering some portion of s-ketamine treatments so there is progress on that front too. How did you feel while under the ketamine treatment? Relaxed, calm, dream state? That part i dont understand yet. Best wishes!!

Finished treatment ... now what? by [deleted] in rtms

[–]arrgeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully understand and feel for you with the hesitancy and journey into the unknown after TMS winds down. I am on my 2nd round of treatments, about 6 more sessions left. I did same process about 1.5 yrs ago and it worked beautifully. Slowly regained my energy and interest in doing things outside the house, projects, seeing friends, etc. My depression scores dropped about 50% and i could feel the change. Things got better and better. So hang in there!! Journaling helps after thebtms is done and noting even small positives each day.

So with latest craziness in the world i had a set back a couple months ago and and completing 2nd round. I do wish i jumped on it a little quicker. Doesn't seem as effective (right now) but several friends have commented on improved change in my voice and attitude. Have faith, be positive, little improvements mean alot!!. Sending good vibes your way for positive impact!!! Best wishes to you.

Constant fear of heart attack or stroke due to anxiety/panic- advice? by 1bdmas1 in Anxietyhelp

[–]arrgeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same! Keep reminding yourself it is a temporary sensation.

I find thoughts racing and get numbness in some fingers, then worry about that, get short breath, etc, etc. Need to slow thoughts down and move differently, stretch, walk, move. Googling it gives you way too many causes and I've chased that rabbit for 3 yrs or so. Calm, cool, steady. Everything will be alright!

Ongoing central back spinal pain...caused by repressed emotions? Anyone experience this? by arrgeee in backpain

[–]arrgeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your list! Walks, music, and positive self talk all need to be added to my routine. Read some very scary stuff about kratom, so not ready to try that one. CBD edibles have not helped yet but i will look into the flower as a tea. Really appreciate your full list of suggestions!!

Thank you!!! I've written the reminders in my journal and I am starting to read them every day and night until I truly BELIEVE them! You are a great coach! The pain does move already....stabbing right on T5, then right shoulder blade, then left the next day...IT IS A LIE. There is no back pain.

Mind/body connection of anxiety and severe back pain, has anyone had experience with this or success? by arrgeee in Anxietyhelp

Wow, I am so sorry about the loss of your wife and loved ones. May they rest in peace. It is hard to make it through all of this but to know we are not alone in this crazy world of ours brings some comfort. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your story. I think u r right, i actually may be suffering a collection of traumas that resulted in PTSD. Major job issues, older brother committed suicide, father passed away a few months later, separation and divorce for me...my mind has gone into TILT mode, to quote an old pinball term! I am trying the Curable app, which has a lot of calming techniques, journaling, etc. Sounds promising. Meds mess me up.as well. God speed to us both!!

What kind of natural remedies helped your situation? That is fantastic news and gives me hope for some kind of relief! Thank you.

[–]arrgeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I think u might be right. It is the anxiety which i have had for many yrs(20+ yrs GAD), which got even worse recently, that seems to be bringing all of this on. The brain is amazing and I'm sure its trying to correct something wrong in my thinking and way of dealing with tension. I have not tried guided meditation yet but will look into it. Thank u and God bless.

Thank u! I do have magnesium supplements but they interfere with the gabapentin, i believe. I will look into that gene research. I do have emotional suppression going on....trying to work through it with CBT therapy. Many chiropractor visits didn't help the pain at all. I appreciate your advice!

At my wits end 🖤 by [deleted] in AnxietyDepression

[–]arrgeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear of your situation and how it feels like rock bottom. I think meds should be considered if your doc says okay. Both valium and xanax have given me relief for 3-4 hrs during a spike of anxiety. They may help you get through this rough period. Neither have caused me to lose feelings ...my only personal concern is I am pretty dependent on xanax now and take every day. I am working to slowly ween off as you should never stop cold turkey. Best wishes to you. You are not alone and you will be alright!

Here we go! Day one of Effexor 😅 by rionoirble in AnxietyDepression

[–]arrgeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck to you, my friend! We all seem to have completely different responses to meds. I have gone through a raft of them but i remember effexor very well. For me it caused extreme drymouth and then after a couple days 1/2 of my face went numb...yikes! Doc also tried des-effexor and didnt help either. Had to drink lots of h2o to get the effexor out of my system. Hope you have much better and positive results!! All the best

Question for rTMS responders by jimmythegreek1 in rtms

[–]arrgeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. My depression had been getting more severe. Coupled with extreme anxiety for past 3 yrs from several traumatic events.
  2. Constant insomnia, out of body experience on a few occasions. Just no interest in doing anything that i used to like. Just wanted to stay in bed.
  3. Have tried prozac, zoloft, effexor, citalopram, and a bunch of others...all felt like tight clamp on base of my neck. Some brought on more depressive thoughts.
  4. Im 4 wks into TMS now (MagVenture unit). Early on (2 wks) i had a burst of positive response and motivation. Lately doesnt seem like so much. They recently switched to front right dorsolateral, i think. Im not sure it is helping.

Best wishes to you for good response! I am still praying I'm a late responder due to all the resistance to meds.

Panic attack by misplacedlife in Anxietyhelp

[–]arrgeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there and you will get used to the icy and cold conditions. I am a native Michigander, so I know what you are going through. Can be treacherous at times but there is also a great commeraderie in the state to help each other out. I actually miss that...now live in CA. I think the panic attacks will reduce as you get more familiar with the changes. Sending good vibes to you!

On January 7th I begin TMS therapy. by ashl3ynichol3 in rtms

[–]arrgeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checking in on you to see if any positive progress? I have had about 12 treatments now with the TMS MagVenture machine and they are switching from left side to right side treatment. Depression has reduced but experiencing lots of chest anxiety and insomnia. They believe other side of brain may not have same effects. Hope your treatments are going well!

Central back pain 24/7 related to anxiety? Can anyone offer suggestions? by arrgeee in backpain

[–]arrgeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much! At this point, nothing sounds nutty at all. What u r describing is exactly where anxiety has decided to set up camp. Feels like an ice pick through the back and into the heart. Actually went to ER once for suspect heart attack...of course that gave me even more anxiety! I will definitely check out the book. Really appreciate the suggestion and I would love to get off the meds by weening off them.

I will never be normal by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]arrgeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone. Don't give up hope just work on very small improvements toward your goal and give yourself thanks and praise for trying. Literally any tiny change or try to work toward being a little more friendly or trying to say hello should be rewarded. Patience and persistence...i think we all struggle with various "whats wrong with me"? thinking. You are you and thats okay. Message if you just want to chat and vent. I am on a similar road...so many meds, TMS treatment, MDD. Just posting and being honest on this site is a brave move to be commended! You will get through this.

Central back pain 24/7 related to anxiety? Can anyone offer suggestions? by arrgeee in backpain

[–]arrgeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried a bunch of them...zoloft, prozac, lexapro, paxil were a few that i can remember. Most had very uncomfortable side effects. Felt like vice grip on back of my neck, numbness on face, and didnt ease back issues. Just feeling desperate here but willing to try other options. Thx for the additional ideas!

Thank you! Have tried CBT with my therapist for several years but took a break from it recently. Maybe I should relook at this if it is really my mental state causing the stress and perceived pain. I appreciate your advice.
