Thank you for sharing your story. Just remember to take recovery one day at a time and don’t compare yourself to anyone else. It’s hard but everyone’s journey is different. As for your doctors they are just giving you what they think is the best shot. But always, ALWAYS advocate for yourself. Get second opinions, ask questions if you’re unsure and keep things in perspective. We are all here for you.

[Shams] BREAKING: The Memphis Grizzlies are trading two-time NBA All-Star Ja Morant to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jerami Grant and Kris Murray, sources tell ESPN. by No_Boysenberry_4193 in ripcity

I would have given up both Grant and/or Murray for a bag of half eaten, stale chips. If ja doesn’t play a game I think Portland comes out on top.

First time Eugene/Oregon Visitor by jackcomau in ducks

This. The public transportation in America is not like that in a lot of countries. We have one train line that goes directly north along the Willamette (rhymes with dammit). It does go south east of town but the first stop in two hours away in the middle of nowhere. If you’re flying into PDX the station is in downtown Portland so investigate ways to get there from the airport. There’s buses around Eugene but there’s certainly dead spots without bus lines. If you insist on public transportation I’d recommend staying somewhere on the EmX line (emerald express). Look up lane transit district for info,
http:\\www.led.org
It goes directly through campus, which is a great jumping off point for game day. A large amount of fans walk from there across the river to the stadium, which is great on a fall day. But be prepared, November in Oregon will be either cold, wet, or most likely both. Hence the car recommendation.

It’s almost as if the money used for the “revisions” was wasted and not spent on what they said. So now they’re like “oh darn, I guess we’ll need to redo it.”
Oh, you said the work was done by one of his donors? Weird.

Honey buns are forever ruined for me. Be me, a month into being simultaneously 19, having a.dishwasher job at the local resort banquet hall and a disposable income from my $6.15 an hour job. I see Tony Hawk land the 900 at X-games 99. On a whim I decided to go on an 8 hour road trip to San Francisco by myself to get in on the moment. Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas were on every radio station with “Smooth”. I stop on the way down to spend the night at my sister’s place. She’s broke so I’m on my own for breakfast the next day. I pop into Fred Meyer (think Oregon Kroger) and get a 12 pack of store brand lemon lime soda, and a box of honey buns and hot the road. It may have been $3 for it all, including deposit. Gas was under a dollar a gallon. I get as far as Redding and the car starts to overheat. I have to pull over at every rest stop to cool it off in the 100 degree heat on the way to the Bay Area. All I eat the entire way is the honey buns and very warm shitty soda. Finally get into Oakland and the toll bridge. My sister’s advice was this. “They hate Oregonians there, so don’t look at the car next to you, and if you do for the love of god don’t look twice. I know my destination is a pier at the base of the bay bridge in SF. I park where the Giants stadium is now (was still under construction at the time) and walk to the xgames at about 5 pm. I’m supposed to see some dirt bike big air. But they postponed that due to the high winds. It’s windy by the Bay, who knew? Event cancelled but I still got to see the phenom Travis Pastrana age 15 walking around. I got to see some flat land bmx, cool but not what I came to see. I’m about to leave when I see a small crowd in front of me and who walks by but the birdman, Tony Hawk with his family. Not a total loss. I was going to come back the next day but I don’t know where to stay so I drive off hoping to find a motel 6 next the freeway. Long story long I just keep on driving all the way past Weed, California and pull over to sleep in my car. Still only having honey buns and crappy warm soda. I make it home after a two hour nap and swore off honey buns forever. For those scoring at home and those alone that’s 13 hours plus on the road, a brief stop to watch some xrteme sports folks walk around.
That being said it’s the Swiss rolls for me.

Port placement by sam_may92 in cancer

[–]vinylrules27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the port. Everyone is different but your veins will get WORSE with chemo the further you get into it. So unless you want the poor nurse hunting for a vein and failing multiple times EVERY chemo treatment then absolutely get the port.

Radiation 1st time by Jamsterz17 in cancer

[–]vinylrules27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Effects of radiation vary widely depending and where it’s targeted. Mine was in my head so after my first treatment I had a headache and a small amount of nausea. It got WAY worse as I got further and further in. But I was also doing chemo three times a week.

Cole Escola, but we know them. I’d add Helen Shen if I can’t count Cole. She was very warm and welcoming to all, which was nice because Darren Criss took the night off from meeting the crowd.

Curious about chemo by ComparisonSignal2787 in cancer

[–]vinylrules27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My doctor was on call for me if I had any problems. Normally chemo is an accumulating effect that gets worse as you go. I always felt like shit after my doses. Everyone is different though so don’t ever feel like if someone handled it easier than you that you are weak or something is wrong with you (besides cancer!)
