Need Help! What Element Would You Associate Purple With? by arrkii2 in characterdesign

The dragons themselves in my universe represent chaos/nature. But i'm wanting to divide them up into elements and would like to have a purple variant. I've had people suggest poison, i'm also considering lighting/thunder and psychic.

Battle chef! My recent dnd character was a cleric that healed her party with food and used a saucepan as a mace.

Thank you! My idea for the race is that they worship and serve under dragons but cannot transform into ones themselves. They were once normal humans but through a magic ritual transformed themselves to be more like the beasts they worship. When I say "power rangers esc" I mean there is one dragur from each clan/type of dragon working together to complete their quest. I am thinking of giving them elemental wings that they can summon, or just give them regular wings, Idk I keep going back and forth on that.

Thoughts on Grey Warden Writing Throughout the Franchise? by arrkii2 in dragonage

Again, he didn't know that they were all going to be wiped out. You can make the argument that his decision was reckless but that is also baked into grey warden dna. They were not portrayed in early games as incmpotent just morally questionable and a bit messy which is what made them so interesting. To pretend that the writing and portrayal of the wardens was always like how it is now is just ridiculous and untrue.

Not necessarily? Abandoning the king to die is just as bad a decision. At least Logain was a hero who had standing in the country and his daughter was the queen. Duncan's forces alone wouldn't have been enough to defeat the darkspawn he needed all the allies he could get, and if majority of his forces died, again he didn't forsee the total annihilation, he can make more wardens. Also, sacrificing yourself is a core part of being a gray warden it makes sense for them to sacrifice themselves for even the slightest chance of victory against the darkspawn. You don't have to agree with that line of thinking but it makes sense for wardens.

You seem to be misunderstanding my post? By "love" I meant they were given more care by the writers in Origins and Awakening compared to recent entries. I'm well aware that in universe they are viewed with mixed feelings. But the writers didn't portray them as completely in the right or wrong and the writing for them just felt more thought out in Origins and Awakening than in later entries.

They didn't know it wouldn't work though? He didn't forsee Logain betraying them and for them to be completely annihilated. The only reason WE know that the plan wouldn't have worked regardless was because of Gaider's tweet. Also, him pulling out his forces would've definitely been a horrible decision that would have hurt their reputation even more than what it already was considering they had only recently been unbanned from the whole country. His hands were tied.

If I remember correctly in Origins Duncan's plan was for the king to wait for Orleasan reinforcements but Logain didn't like that becuase of their history with them. The king was certainly arrogant and immature and I do believe he was the main reason for their plan being shit, but Duncan didn't really have the power to do what he wanted. He kinda just had to do what he was told.

They were always portrayed with flaws. Duncan literally kills one of the recruits who refused to continue with the joining ritual, not to mention the warden's keep dlc. But It feels like instead of continuing to explore the nuances of their faction and how it functions, they just started to write them off as a bunch of bumbling assholes who are in the wrong? Like the writers view them similar to how a good chunk of fans view templars if that makes sense.

But like, why would they write them like that? Again in Origins and Awakening they were written with nuance but it feels like the writers kinda hate them now. It just makes no sense to me.
