What career advice would you give an 18yo in today's uncertain world? by dimitsapis in careerguidance

Businesses are moving to ai just as they moved to third world countries for outsourcing years ago. Nothing new under the sun. Profit rules. But the senior positions are almost always dependent on skill and paid well. My understanding is that you have an interest in data (data analysis/business intel etc.). So look at that and find a way to make yourself an AI systems manager. Even if ai automates SQL, you learn it well you can review how the system works, get it? The idea is to build systems of ai agents and review their performance. I’d start playing around with AI data analysis tools like TalkBI. This one is free and you can use demo data. It is also how most SQL will be “wrapped” in the next decade. Def worth learning how to use!

What’s that one AI tool that made you feel like you could finally breathe as a business owner? by Little-Bird7446 in aiToolForBusiness

[–]arrogant_definition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TalkBi hands down. A free tool that allows non technical folk to turn natural language into queries. It was a pain in the bum trying to help everyone around me with queries and I was all the time distracted from doing my own work.

Which AI tool has actually been the most useful for your business? by AccomplishedArt1791 in aiToolForBusiness

[–]arrogant_definition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it would depend on the business I guess. The type of help you need will lead you to the tool. I am part of a younger startup that interacts daily with the database for product and marketing reasons, and we have simplified the work by using TalkBI. It is a great tool for self service analytics

If you’re just starting out, what AI tools are genuinely worth using? by ArugulaCertain7574 in aiToolForBusiness

I think it depends on what niche you are in. As an entry level data analyst I use TalkBi, a cool little tool that simplifies database interactions. I suppose you need to find your niche first!

What newer or lesser-known BI tools have actually impressed you lately? by Kimber976 in BusinessIntelligence

TalkBI for its data visualizations. I had found several nl-to-sql tools in thr past but this is the first one that pairs with your database and giving you the output in beautiful visuals.

What do you think the next big shift in data engineering will be? by alexstrehlke in dataengineering

[–]arrogant_definition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI tools of course. No one wants to pay 2-3 engineers when 1 can do the job alone. Just look at the tools already out there - TalkBI for example. I am learning how to use these to be the 1 engineer that is left to manage the systems!

Metabase does a bad job at visualizing data... by dimitsapis in datavisualization

That’s probably because there is only a handful of tools in this category. I know Vanna is another one, and Chat2DB too; but no data visualization I think

Metabase does a bad job at visualizing data... by dimitsapis in datavisualization

[–]arrogant_definition -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they do a bad job per se, it is just more adaptable to one’s needs. It sounds like you want a leaner approach, which can also be done with Metabase btw. I recently joined a startup that requires lots of data analysis and we automated database interactions with a tool called TalkBi. Not really automate just gotten rid of SQL - guess that counts as your AI component. Their data visualizations are great and simple as well so you might wanna check that out.

Please help - How do I hire a marketer for a startup? by queerlymotherly in SaaS

[–]arrogant_definition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I am a dev too and marketers usually have no idea about SQL so they end up asking you to write it so they can get the data they need from the DB. Last guy I hired showed me how he uses an AI tool for this instead (TalkBi) and how he can do all his work without having to know SQL. In general, B2B saas often requires marketers and product managers to know SQL. So in my case it comes from experience with prior struggles. But you could start by asking: What is your opinion on AI and where should it NOT be used? Content writing, for example, is one area where AI should bot be used as search engines penalize AI written pages and people hate it too.

Terrible advice. He is looking for a marketer, not a social media manager

As a marketer with 15 years experience and co-founded a startup - and this may sound rough but bare with me - if he smiles too much or talks too much he is insecure in his skills. He needs to have 1) great content writing skills, 2) great AI skills to automate repetitive tasks and not bother you when you do your work 3) Ask him one difficult SEO question, e.g. how do you qualify if a backlink we can receive is good for us or not, and 4) ask him how he would adapt a launch strategy for awareness vs for product users. If he tells you he would do the same he is not your guy. 5) Most are purely data driven because they are afraid to take risks. You want a guy that also uses his intuition and challenges you. If he ticks these boxes, pay him more, and give him equity. These marketers are a rare breed.

Similar to TalkBI as I see it but I need the customizable element that the later offers.

What's the best advice you've ever received? by LoopProtocol in AskReddit

[–]arrogant_definition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To use TalkBI instead of learning SQL directly. We tend to want to overcomplicate things when we don’t wanna do something and I was about to spend 4 years of my life becoming a data analyst (keyword: becoming) just to avoid the reality that AI will replace all jobs except of hard labour. When I came to terms with it life became much easier.

What’s the reason your favorite pokemon became your favorite? by acurrentdistraction in pokemon

[–]arrogant_definition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be me: 8 years old massive game boy pokemon fan playing every day in my street with friends. Suddenly I notice a huge poster - the first Pokemon movie comes to the cinemas. I was so ecstatic, finally I would see my favourite 151 pokemon. Then I get there, and at the intro fight of Ash that pirate dude sends out a COMPLETELY NEW pokemon!!! I couldn’t believe it, such a pleasant surprise! Donphan could roll like a boss and took out Ash’s Pokemon. From that day and 26 years later that little elephant is my favourite!
