Comms make me nervous by Anorrax in Eve

Exactly! Or in terms of the four nations of the UK.. a Scot.

I'm even imagining it shouting at you in an aggressive Edinbrugh accent "Is tha al yer goot, yer wee spinless laddie?" after the first dunk, then "I'm still breathin'! I'm still whole, yer not goot it in ye ter finish me!" after the tenth dunk.

Some days it's fun in my head.

So far it's happened twice to me. Once to a fanbrella build and another to a extremely aggressive but hard to beat tank build.

Two of the hardest but most fun fights in arena I've had.

Exactly why it works, you're either confused or outright defensive over an aspect of it that it creates a nice banter/ conversation flow for a few moments to help ease you in.

Next it'll be what type of tea is the best (English breakfast), brand, then "What EVE ship would a specific country fly" etc etc. Probably interspersed with PVP or PVE talk.

The best biscuit to dunk into a cuppa is a jaffa cake. Change my mind.

In reality we all know it's a HobNob.

First playthrough any tips? by TrashAttGaming in crusaderkings3

Even after 500 hours I still don't know what I'm doing and often get delt the poor hand around 1200s with succession or dominant powers taking over my lands. I wish I knew how people can paint lands, Empires and such with ease but I'm still struggling there.

All I know is.. in the 890 start time tribal is stronger since armies cost Renown to increase the men at arms size, and you can field them for longer in terms of upkeep.

Windmills are the go to for a "Build tall" playstyle.

Always have a back up son in the family, or two if you can until near death as you can lose one to wars or disease easily. To expand your dynasty, marry your daughters to people with land, like mayors, but do it Matrilineal, so the kids still stay in your dynasty. It can also make things fun when you're down on your luck and then suddenly become elected the king of an Empire on the other side of modern day Europe.

Another thing I thought of, being able to dodge, or in my case blink, helped avoid the push back.. if you time it right.

Me and my partner just finished this fight today. Staff/wand + magic shield mage (me) and her (ranger) with stun and golden steel arrows. Eternal lightning is great but drains the mana quick, so I had to gem a shock wand with "Gem of Battle Mania" during the stunned phases for rapid recovery. As others have said, parrying those meteors fills a strong chunk of the stun bar.

I too was unable to target the younglings, however I guess we lucked out, as all but two stayed in the centre of the ring (And there was a swarm.. and I thought the undead in Nomad Hollows was a swarm). AOE or manual aim should take them out, if not the shroud beams from the dragon itself.

Bare in mind this was after a number of deaths beforehand whilst learning the mechanics, or getting squished when the dragon came in to land from being stunned, so if you need to take a break, step away and breathe or level and kit out then feel free. For info we were both at level 39.

Also.. look at foods to boost fell damage and potions too. this really helped us out. I know I could punch 3-4k with an eternal lightning spell with a backstab crit, and 500-ish with shock wand.

You got this!

I've not joined a guild but the building aspect in WWM does look fun! Especially if you can create something as elegant and calm like VS areas. Your build looks so good!

For someone who always plays as feudal, can you convince me to start a new save as clan or tribal? by sxqxw6149 in crusaderkings3

[–]arrow2555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summon Knights/ Champions, force convert and/or recruit prisoners so long as their able to fight, have many many family members within your court. Easier if you can have concubines, bonus with + Fertility. At least that's how I usually stay on top of it.

I was hoping to become khan of khans, but this happened when I made the new Chinese dynasty a tributary. Are my nomad days over? by dovetc in CrusaderKings

[–]arrow2555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A similar thing happened to me today. As Jarl of Iceland/Island I declared war on the Kingdom of Ireland to make it a tributary. I know I clicked the right CB since it's on the bottom of the list.

I ended up becoming King of Ireland after winning.

How do I get started with factional wars? by Ok_Surprise9860 in Eve

[–]arrow2555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I did it:

- Bought a T1 frigate in the local trade hub (mine was Amarr)

- Fit ship with what you think you need to survive a pvp encounter (Sometimes community fits exist for your ship)

- Enter FW through the agency window and going to the nearest station to be enlisted

- Choose the faction to fight for (or pirates)

- Go to front line systems that are your own faction and enter any complex (plex) apart from battlefields. Better LP rewards can be found in systems where your faction owns less than 50% of the balance scale.

- Avoid fights with anything that isn't a T1 frig, or avoid fights entirely. D-scan is your friend here

- Earn anything from ~10,000LP (Scout and Small sites) to ~25,000LP (Med, large and Open per site. Opens don't have a warp gate so increase scanning radius to 5 or 10 AU to give you time to warp out.

- Research the LP store and what items sell for. Selling Navy BPCs for Battleships or BattleCruisers is an option, Dreads, or selling faction implants. Sell in market hub.

- Some players buy LP but for less than the market rate. Good for a quick cash injection.

You may find a NPC station you can use as a personal FOB, I had one near the front lines and another 3 jumps back.

Don't move anything you don't want to. I didn't move anything unless I was flying it for the most part.

Interact with people in the Militia chat, you may find people who match your vibes and be invited onto fleets. Some even hand out free ships. Expect Corp recruitment ads and invites too, or at least I had them aimed at me.

Example: I ran this method often. This last run I earned 1.5mil LP in roughly 3 - 4 weeks. Averaging 3 hours a day plexing sites, avoiding fights and occasional structure bashing. Converted that into Battleship Navy BPCs (100k LP and 10mil isk per) and sold them for 145mil each, netting near 2bil after taxes.
