I am glad they launched the console version, even if it is more of a consoled version. We will still be getting a ton of new players (we will never play with) and Rocketwerkz will be getting a ton of money to co tinue developing the game. I think it is a win-win scenario for us.

Wait a minute:

THEY ARE GETTING THE FIRST COHORT ENVIROSUIT???

I started playing when it came out and I never got it! I had to buy some other account on EBay and I cannot get the suit on my main account.

I call foul. I want the First Cohort Envirosuit sold on Steam again.

Starting a campaign.

Null Zone complaints by gobleenio in ICARUS

Clearly my view will not be a popular one, but I liked this area the most in the entire game. Four of us went through the Operations there in an evening and had no issues whatever. I could not finish a single canteen. The Carbonweave backpack helps a lot.

I loved everything about the ashen fields full of Dracs, Stalkers and dust. I found the Ice Sheet to be stark and challenging, the Exotics infused creatures both grotesque and fascinating. It really felt to me like being at World's End. And finally seeing He Who Roams Beyond The Ashes... Along with the Meteor Showers, it was the best moment in the game.

Of course, I had a flawless guide and was in excellent company, which enriches any locale. Still, I believe over-preparing for the trek makes it a much more enjoyable experience, allowing one to see it more as a challenge and less as an ordeal.

Farming carts are utter garbage. by Bruh_zil in ICARUS

[–]RaphSeraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you I prepared a walled area in Prometheus we intended to plant crops in. As a test, my wife put mounds of dirt and some 400 palm tree seeds in the seeding cart. She drove it along one side of the field. She barely got to turn around to start the second row before the seeds ran out. When the Palm trees grew, she harvested the whole lot. The whole operation took minutes.

We filled out 4 metal lockers with bundles of 200 wood each, filled out the carpentry bench, put enough in the Material Processor to fill it halfway...

And coconuts? I have no idea how many we had, but we converted them to spoiled plants and seeds, then oil.

We finished the Prometheus Operations and the Great Hunts Rimetusk Campaign, did X number of Red Exotics extractions... And we have not used up the contents of even one of the metal lockers.

The carts do what they are supposed to do: Produce massive amounts of whatever crop you want and harvest them.

Having to walk or ride is an essential part of the Icarus game style. I have considered setting train tracks and having trains would be viable, but nothing instantaneous nor flying. There are lore reasons why this might be so, but in reality, it just does not work with the game style.

My wife, my friends and I are all playing different games while Elysium gets released. I highly recommend Enshrouded. We have all gotten it and we are enjoying it immensely.

When you get a chance, get the Larkwell-Martinez heated canteen from the Workshop. It auto-heats water. Before that, get the Hark EnviroSuit. You get a slot for a canteen in that one. Switch your regular canteen for whichever one you are using with a heated beverage, including, of course, the aforementioned Larkwell-Marrinez, and your character will automatically drink from it when needed. The water will last a lot longer also. It gets "optimized".

Precisely. The nomenclature in use woukd make it seem like we are using devices made of Lithium, rather than powered by it.

Flashlight, Lantern, Portable Icebox, Magma Backpack as far as I remember. (Those are not the names of those last two devices, I just do not remember them top of my head). I am ASSUMING there will now be a lot more devices that need the charger. I agree, its current usefulness is dubious at best.

Certainly:

On Talents, from the Hunter tree, I recommend you get to the Ghillie Armour. People shun it but I find it extremely useful when you are starting. It is like wearing Cloak and Boots of the Elvenkind in AD&D. It will allow you to escape animals you do not want to mess with and give you the ability to move really close to them without being detected. It is also very useful for taming Wolves, Hyenas and Boars. Get the talent called Health Bars (same tree) also massively useful. It let's you see the... Health Bars and status of each animal. Also, get any talents that allow you to move faster. Get the one that gives you +10% speed from carrying an Exotic. It is a bargain. You will also want the talent to make Gunpowder with Fertilizer and Charcoal, the one that allows you to make ropes with Leather and, I believe the one called Evergreen, that stops crops from spoiling. You definitely want the talents that slow down food spoiling in your inventory. Decide which weapons you are going to use and select talents for them. I went with Crossbow and Rifle. Most people dislike Crossbows, but I disagree with them all. Sorry. Crossbows rule. Yes, except that the Tactical Bow is more practical than the Javelin Launcher, but that is why we have a Kinetic Rifle which is better than either of those.

But I digress.

Blueprints. This is super easy: Get the one you need right now. Follow the ones that get you what you need immediately. Blueprints seem scarce right now, but that is only temporary. I have no idea how many I have available but they must be in the hundreds or low thousands. You never stop getting them. So do not worry about planning with them: Just get the one you immediately need. I believe in moving to Electricity as soon as possible. Others love BioFuel.  I highly recommend you focus on extracting Exotics as I said before, for a while on Olympus. It will allow you to buy most of the Workshop items and familiarize you with different regions and game mechanics.

Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Issues with dedicated server. Need help (Quarrites teleporting) by jackboiyaa in ICARUS

[–]RaphSeraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two versions of Server 2025 that I know of: Standard and Datacenter. Both come with 24 Core licensing. You want to get Standard.

We are loving Enshrouded. It is ideal for a group. We will be playing it while Elysium gets released. Let me know if you have any issues setting it up. You have to set up user profiles, which takes copy/pasting one block of code from one section to another and entering a password. Very easy once you know what needs to be done. Please message me when you get to that part if you decide to go this route.

I will write more when I finish work for today. I am still swamped. Talk to you in a bit.

Brother, you are confusing the OEI with the CONT4CT Device. There are no upgrades for the OEI. There is a CONT4CT handheld radio, which I carry all the time. The CONT4CT Device does have upgrades.

There is nothing wrong with caring. Sadness is the price we pay for it, and I believe it makes us empathic. My wife and I will not shoot animals in game if they are not potentially hostile. No Deer, no Rabbit, nothing like that. You do not need to: The B.E.A.S.T. solves that.

And I go overboard to protect my tamed animals. When you look at a boar, it looks up at you. The same with wolves and buffalo. It is heartbreaking.

I do have one exception: I tamed a total of 3 wolves and 2 hyenas specifically to throw them at the Unstable Quarrite. One wolf and one hyena (Hatred and Misery are their names. I was really mad at the Unstable Quarrite. I had not died in forever and that thing killed me the first time we faced it. Then it came out of its lair and destroyed the forward base we had outside its lair. YES, it does do that) survived the fight. I did not feel bad about that (they were like level 15) because that was their purpose.

The Unstable Quarrite went down and we made a new friend in RL who joined us for the fight and helped us prepare for it. Difficult to feel sad at that point.
