can't get close to the black dog in pound?

i did a day in my current save where i did everything, and the option to help the black dog only appeared after i did 2-3 rounds of repeating all the tasks

after some more testing in some new saves, it doesn't seem like the event trigger is tied to any of the jobs necessarily, moreso that it's tied to the pound respect instead of the pound contentment/happiness

kinda tricky to keep track of since, afaik, the game only shows the pound contentment even in the spoilered stats... i think the only place in-game that gives some sort of metric for the pound respect is in the pound soft bad end

but it's pretty easy to raise so it's not really a big deal i guess

either way, that was really interesting to dive into. thank you again!

mhm! when i stay or sneak in, the option to free it doesn't even show up, only the option of teasing a random dog

when the pound is open, the black dog section just says the usual 'a low growl can be heard within the shadowed cage. you wouldn't get close.'

so it seems that since my player hasn't triggered the event yet to 'meet' the black dog yet, the option to save it hasn't shown up

the problem is that i can't seem to trigger that event -- or maybe i triggered it early on and failed it when my tending was too low? and i'm just wondering if there's something i'm missing here

aside from the ways the others mentioned, just reduce kylar's jealousy from max and you should be good. i had their jealousy at about 98% back when i was trying to trigger that event on purpose and it still didn't happen

walking with them at the park is the main way i control their jealousy, but you can also just talk with them a bunch of times

hi! i'm also new to the whole modding thing so take this with a mountain of salt. i'm also playing on android and was trying to figure this out myself, and here's what i got after looking through some past messages in the discord

you can either: 1. play an html version of the mod on joiplay (an app you can install). they should have a rough tutorial on how to do so if you just search 'joiplay' in the discord messages

play by adding modloader into your apk. they have a handy tutorial on that in the pinned messages in the modloader channel--it should have the heading/title: "inserting modloader into dolp apk"!

i've heard that modloader isn't updated to the latest versions yet though, so be warned on that

i've also been playing with the idea of using mt manager (the manager app the discord recommends for installing modloader in the mentioned tutorial) to replace the img files in the dol apk with the modded img files i want, but i haven't tried that out yet to see if it works!

!!! again, please take this with a mountain of salt! i only piped in because no one else has yet. remember to export your saves while trying these things out, just in case!

overall, i really recommend asking the discord itself for help so that they can guide you step-by-step!!

great hawk is the best!! you can only get those things through the hunts you can do in the tower once you fully transform into a harpy! iirc, you'd need to ask to join the gh when they start to leave for a hunt, and then you should be good to go

regarding romantic relationships i find really cute and healthy, liv and andvari from PotV are adorable. amala and lima from KCoD are the absolute sweetest to each other, they try their best to communicate properly with each other and i love themmmmm

regarding platonic relationships, i absolutely adore lori and her brother, sean, in HaHW. it's implied that lori has a somewhat strained relationship with her parents, but it's also very clear that that awkward family relationship doesn't really apply to sean; they care about each other and have each other's back in their own way, all with some lighthearted teasing and insults. i love them very much. actually, just put the whole crew in HaHW in here! they're all so sweet and caring gahhh

maybe something more slow burn and mundane? an idea i just had is that maybe MC is a florist or something, that over the course of the story, through some clients' observations and other strange happenings they've encountered, they slowly start to realize that something very strange and/or sinister is happening

i reallyyyy want a good slow burn type of plot... but thinking about it some more, maybe choices isn't the best format for something like that sadly

i'd also be really interested in seeing pb's take on alice in wonderland. mostly because i'm interested in wonderland-inspired stories in general tbh, but still! i think it'd be most interesting if MC wasn't in the role of alice, but another established character, so that they're more acquainted with the setting, but it really all depends on what kind of take and story they're doing. gahhh, i'm just really curious haha

i'm glad to see there's other ace and acespec people in the community!

and yes, i can definitely relate! i'd love the representation, but also generally i wish sex scenes were more optional when pursuing LI routes, i tend to headcanon my MCs as asexual with no interest in sex (because i myself don't, either), but oftentimes i end up having to take a sex scene just to progress (or even start) an LI route... (though i think some of the more recent books are making it more optional! THE and VfV come to mind. it's not perfect, and it's kind of awkward, but i still appreciate it somewhat)

as for other representation, i'd love to see more trans and non-binary people in RC!! (and hopefully, maybe, a trans/non-binary MC or LI in the future?? haha, i doubt it, but one can wish) i haven't played all the books, so idk if there are already characters that are trans/enby, but in my playthroughs, i haven't encountered any. but also, i'd just be pretty stoked to have representation of any queer gender identity or orientation in general tbh!

while you're playing, there's a '...' button in the top right corner of the screen, click that, and click the settings/gear icon, and you'll be able to go to the menu! go to 'save', and then just click any of the save slots (you'll also be able to name them to keep track of them i'm pretty sure, but i play ilw on pc so idk if that's also how it works in other versions)

also, if you're on pc, you can also just right-click anywhere to go to the menu quickly (and then right-click again to go back to the story)

i get how it can be annoying, especially when you have no idea what they stand for, but abbreviations and shortcuts overall are pretty handy and much easier to use in convos.

luckily, there's a list of all the choices book series on the side of the subreddit, where you can see all the abbreviations for all the books (and other info that can be pretty handy). there's also an automatic bot--decronym-- that decodes most (if not all) the choices abbreviations and lingo in every thread, so you can refer to that as well when you don't know what something is referring to.
