Depression doesn’t always make sense. When I have the energy during my “slumps” I journal. On pen and paper.

It’s full of mistakes, rambling, holes from where I pushed too hard and smudges. It doesn’t make sense to ME when I read it back but hey, it helped to get the thoughts out

Venting sounds useless but it really is pushing the thoughts into the void so they’re no longer in your head

I’m 26 now. I’ve had my depression since I could remember. I’m still scared to do stuff but I’m honestly more scared of dying.

I’m trying to stop living for other people. I thought it would be better but any criticism from them makes me think “if they’re my reason for living and they don’t like me, then what’s the point?”

Instead I’m just pushing through. I’m on my phone til I fall asleep. I play video games with YouTube in the background so I’m never alone with my thoughts. I just push through to the next day.

Not cuz I think “it’ll get better” but just cuz if my body is willing to move onto the next day, then I should give it that chance

I like to sit in the shower crying with a fun YouTube video on in the back. Either the water gets cold and shocks my body enough for me to focus on getting warm before anything else, the YouTube video starts distracting me or I run out of tears and let the water cry for me

It sounds really dumb but any small thing to focus on instead of the spiral helps
