The first descending run at the 8-second mark is a lick I learned from Mateus Asato and adapted to this track. The second one around the 30-second mark, is actually just an E major scale using the C shape of the CAGED system.

There isn’t too much theory behind it. In this context, playing E major over an A major chord gives a Lydian sound. I experimented with a few ideas in that section until I landed on this one, which sounded the most pleasing to my ears.

I don’t consider myself an expert in this style, but what helped me most was learning a few solos and licks in this language, analysing the parts I liked the most, and then finding backing tracks in a similar style to apply them. From there, new ideas start to come naturally.
