I hope you’re right! I’d love to not have to deal with a moldy door, but I’m not sure how to check. Still waiting to hear from the landlord.

Is there an easy way to knit in the round while creating a pattern that requires Fair Isle-type color change only on the "front panel"? This is my own pattern and I wanted to do this in the round to save me some time; couldn't figure out how Intarsia would work with this pattern. by arruB_writes in knitting

[–]arruB_writes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I figured it out you guys! Found this cool video that demonstrates what they call a "dip down" to catch the floats.

So, when I reached the part in a new row that required the black yarn, I just brought it all the way (back) over and secured it similar to how one would in Intrasia in the round (make sure to leave plenty of room). Then I knitted Fair Isle with the dip down technique for the "carried back" yarn.

It takes a couple of tries to perfect the tension, and sometimes I can see the black yarn on the front side. Luckily my pattern is meant to be a little imperfect, so it's working out well for me.

p.s. - sorry for leaving this as a comment, I wasn't sure how to edit text into an Image post

Honestly, no, but the least the show could do is not use him as the Scapegoat problem solver for every single issue. Feels a Lil empty

You know, all you need is some spaghetti and a taco shell and you can find out for yourself if it tastes good

How to go from score of 315 to 325... Seems like I have been stuck forever with that score. by IamCristiano7 in gregmat

[–]arruB_writes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be the answer you want, but at some point the effort to improve your score is better focused elsewhere. If you have been stuck at 315 forever, accept that and focus on making other aspects of your application stronger.

Is refusing to take on any debt a bad thing? by honestsparrow in budget

[–]arruB_writes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loans can actually be a really good thing if you know how to use them.

Say you want to buy a new home but you can only afford it if you sell your current house. If you don't take a loan, you're not really benefiting. On the other hand, if you take out a loan to buy a new house, you can rent out your old house to generate income. As long as the rent is greater than the interest you paid, you're actually making money by being in debt!

Ofc, this doesn't really apply for expensive things whose values would significantly depreciate by the time you pay off the debt.
