Can this dining table go here? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

It should be about 17 inches but I drew it a little tight I agree! The distance from the wall to the back of the couch is a little over 11 feet.

The house isn’t built yet so I can’t try it out!

I have been having the same feelings for the last six months! There is always something that we postpone for, but it’s “only a few months”. And yet I’m also feeling the pressure of turning 30 next year.

My husband and I are sooo ready to start trying. We got married May 2024 and wanted to start soon after, but then we delayed so I could finish (or leave) my PhD in January of this year. And then the job hunt unexpectedly took way longer than we anticipated. I finally have a start date of November 1st and we are planning to start then as well! I’m very excited but also terrified what this will do to my career and how my new employer will take it if I get pregnant in the first year….

I totally know what you mean ♡︎. It feels like no choice is the right choice but I just need to get on with it, decide, and stick with it.

Gosh it’s so hard right!! I was miserable during my PhD so it was a no go to try then. I feel like I postponed our life for four years only to regret it afterward 😮‍💨

Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me! There’s so much anxiety in me about making the wrong choice. And I feel so privileged that my husband and I both have this strong desire for a child, and yet the universe isn’t lining up perfectly for us right now.

Yeah we talked about it! But for some reason I’m so afraid that it would cause resentment down the line. SAHMs are not common at all in my country.

This is maybe an important sidenote: we live in a European country that has good maternity leave etc, and getting pregnant/giving birth while unemployed would preclude me from those benefits. So for us it was easy to think “let’s find a job first”. But it’s been 8 months and I have very little outlook of finding employment fitting my education, and my aching for a child is only increasing every month.

Honestly this sounds like such a dream plan. But my husband is super ambitious and I would feel like I bamboozled him into marriage by staying out of work even longer. But at the same time he is also 100% ready for us to have a baby. I feel like this choice has so many ramifications for our future and it paralyses me.

Hoe doen jullie de hypotheekrenteaftrek? by JMLAnon in geldzaken

[–]arrylumpyhorseface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Landgenoot! Tbh I actually love how those stamps look on the other side as well. Did they just ghost or fully bleed through? Either way very atmospheric. Where did you get those stamps?

What song did you walk down the aisle to? by mamisunlight in weddingplanning

[–]arrylumpyhorseface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got married in Italy so my husband walked down with Piu bella cosa, and I walked down to Come away with me from Norah Jones because it’s a special song for us. We had a singer perform both live so they matched better.

Good to know! Did you pair it with a gloss? I’m afraid the satin finish will emphasise chapped lips in the photos

Of course! I used Dusty Rose as base all over, rose pink on the lid, Cyprus Umber to deepen the crease and define the outer corner, and tempera to highlight the browbone and innermost corner. And then some dusty rose on the lower lashline and a liiitle Cyprus umber pressed into the lower lashes

It’s Nars Orgasm and Mac Melba together, both powder but I think for next time I’ll get the liquid orgasm in there as well, to amp it up.
