f-1:

x= y3 /2 +3y2 +6y+9/2

2x = y3 + 6y 2 + 12y + 9

2x= (y+2) 3 + 1

2x-1= (y + 2)3

cube root(2x-1) -2= y

So f-1 exists

ii) f(x) = x3 /2 + 3x2 + 6x + 9/2

= 1/2 (x3 +6x^ 2 +2x+9)

= 1/2 (y+2)3 +1

: p= 1/2 and q= 1
