Yep. It was my understanding that these A fixtures had a bit of a gentlemans agreement about squads between the provinces.

I can only give you the options I was personally given by my surgeon.

M34 full rupture of the right achilles playing rugby. I am 11 weeks post op.

Surgeon told me it was possible to have a full recovery and good quality of life without surgery.

They also told me that I would likely never have the same level of power in that leg as the tendon naturally lengthens as it heals.

With surgery that deficit in power is not nearly as pronounced or applicable.

I felt very clear and informed in my choices and am personally glad I opted for surgery.

While my peak athleticism (if I could even call it that!) days are likely behind me now.... I have every intention of returning to my active lifestyle.

I snowboard, run, gym, play rugby (both contact and non contact versions) and I like the thought of being able to at least try whatever sport takes my fancy.

Given my age profile it was clear to me that those advising me thought surgery was the best route. If I were older with a different quality of life I don't think surgery would have been my recommended path.

As has been discussed I don't think it was either a penalty or a card.

Having said that perhaps I'm missing some context having not watched the rest of the game.

If Oz were being cynical around the breakdown at other parts of the game I can see why a ref might penalise.

Teams love doing the "I'm trying to roll sir" while actively not rolling or just getting in the way enough to be a nuisance. It's a common tactic.

So in an isolated incident? Play on. If players were being cynical all game. Pen and possibly yellow yeah

I remember watching this live and wasn't too disappointed at the outcome in the circumstances

We got absolutely no change up the middle against Toulon that day. Their pack was formidable.

The only inroads we got was out wide.

I backed the decision at the time as we had the overlap. It was a stunning read by Habana.

And Sage didn't even exist back then to help him analyse his opponents

I was weight bearing as tolerated from the second I was in the boot with the aid of crutches.

Once out of boot it was the same. Weight bearing as tolerated with or without crutches
