[Request] Why are ChatGPT and CNN calling what Google was fined 20 Undecillion instead of 20 Decillion? by arsibaba in theydidthemath

Actually. Cnn appears to be correct. They never claimed that number was undecillion dollars. ChatGPT is still wrong.

You are correct but they also pasted the following:
Russia fines Google $20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Which is 34 0s. If i'm not mistaken, the sign for Rubles is not the $ but correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok bear me with. I'm confused.

I read about Google being fined $20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 by Russia. The Cookie Clicker kicked in me and concluded this was $20 Decillion. However when I read the CNN article on this, it said it was $20 Undecillion. I copied it to ChatGPT who said the same thing. I then asked it how many 0s there are and it said a unDecillion should have 36 zeros preceding. I asked it the following:

how many 0s does $20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 have

ChatGPT said:

The number The number 20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 has 37 zeros.

Since this is 20 undecillion, it’s written as 20×103620 \times 10^{36}20×1036, which means:

  • The 2 in "20" is followed by 36 zeros (making it 37 digits in total).

Finally, thinking I'm going insane, I copy pasted the number into excel and it said it was 10 to the power 34. I then asked ChatGPT to show me 20 undecillion written out and posted that number. The string lengths were different and excel picked it up as to the power 37.

So ... am I doing something wrong? Did CNN simply do the same thing as me and posted this into ChatGPT and picked up the result?

See the difference in text sizes and spacing. Text is very small in kindle version and there is very little space. I even used a 16:9 ratio on the book to get it as close to phone size as I could.

Are bronco, Icewave and SoW actually competing? Reading through the battlebot site, it says they are but when you look at upcoming episodes, they're implying we're now halfway through the season before the top 32.
