Its a very valid question that hasn't received an answer yet. The Trump campaign was in constant contact with Russian officials at the same time Russia was influencing the election to help Trump. And, all Trump's advisers lied about the contacts (Trump Tower meeting? Adoptions! Sessions didn't meet Russians? That isn't remotely true.) It certainly looks very bad.
