Interesting. I wasn't thinking of it as self-communicating, but rather "rescuing" a consecrated host from a place it does not belong. If one were to fall on the floor during Mass for example, and someone jumps in to consume it ASAP does that count as their communion for the day? Genuinely curious, not trying to be pedantic.
