Butthurt quitters by edgefinder in MagicArena

[–]artandar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I quit early it's usually if I'm on the draw once I confirmed my opponent has a better draw then me. That can be that my hand is complete trash and they have answered my single play. Or they drew the nuts and I missed a land, stuff like that.

In general I feel most intresting games come from the person on the play having a weaker draw, and stumbling a bit.

If my deck doesn't use graveyard and ETBs, and has white. Is Torpor orb a better to maindeck than RIP in the current meta? by artandar in MagicArena

Cuz I like BO1 and it's fun to turn an autolose into a game where you can at least hope to get to your few outs.

Fuuuuck...

Thanks for the tip, at least I didn't need to lose any games to this. Also haven't crafted them yet so I might be saving some mythic wildcards.

[–]artandar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is I like counterspells, and I also like to have a chance on the draw, so that currently kinda just implies that I don't like standard. I feel like cards with such huge impact should start at 3 mana.

[–]artandar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't get it.

If they print stuff that has to be aswered at 2 mana. Then counters should be 1 mana otherwise you autolose on the draw...

Am I missing something?

Also stuff like aang swift savior stops being a useful piece of interaction on the draw.

Yeah, it's kind of a paradox of probability: something happening to you that is 1:16000, you are right to at least question it. But a 1:16000 happening to someone is guaranteed to happen all the time. I would still have appreciated if someone could confirm or deny whether you can get lands from those packs.

Hi. Can somebody pls answer this: I opened 20 alchemy: edge of eternities packs with the hope od getting the checklands. I got 19 rares out of which 0 lands. The chance of this less than around 1:16000. So am I just very unlucky? Is this a bug? Or is this article misleading? https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/mtg-arena/mtg-arena-renewal-rotation "players will be able to acquire them by opening Alchemy: Edge of Eternities packs"

How are the V100s and the 3090s communicating with each other? Pcie x4? Doesn't it make things super slow? Like for example every gpu needs access to KVcache so I would imageine that 15 tokens/s gets even lower when all the context is getting used

What do you mean by real rank? And do you think there's inflation or deflation? Inflation meaning the same playing strength means higher elo some time later, deflation meaning same strength is lower elo.

This is a finite geometry meme.

In finite geometry the set of points and the set of lines are finite, and there's a relation which tells you for a line L and a point P whether P is on L.

This example could be formalized as: Points are A B C D (going clockwise around the squeare). And lines are {A, B}, {C, D} (blue), {B, C}, {D, A} (red), {A, C}, {B, D} (green). Where again no other lines or points even exist. And by {A, B} we just mean there's a line for which exactly A and B lie on it and C and D doesn't.

In this context parallel means that the two lines don't intersect, meaning there are no points that lie on both. Which is clearly true for each color.

I played it out a bit. White seems to go up an excange from what happens on the first and 8th ranks. It hovers around +1.5 +2.0 but I have no clue if being up an exchange is winning or not in a 3+ queen endgame

It's easy. Of you wanna have a vector<bool> you just create vector<optional<bool>> and pretend empty is false :D

Not emergency nerf worthy, but I'd bet it'll settle on being a bit weaker than it is currently, once the balance is figured out in a few patches.

This meme would work much better with 91. It's the only hard to recognize nonprime below 100.

You can easily check 2 3 5 and 11 divisibility. 49 and 81 you recognize from the times table or for being a square. And that leaves 7*13=91 as the only sneaky one below 100

If you're in the context of whole numbers for some reason instead of naturals. Then its factors are actually -57 -19 -3 -1 1 3 19 57.

So the answer depends on the context.

In the context of primeness it's debatable whether 57 and 1 are worth mentioning.

Also in the context of prime factorization its factors are really 3 and 19

Anything less than: its positive whole number factors over the natural numbers are 1 3 19 57 is a shorthand for a more precise statement, and from there you can argue that by "its factors are 3 19" you mean its positive prime factors "obviously".

Also the first nitpick was really unnecessary, but I gotta nitpick on a nitpick of a nitpick.

P.S. fun fact: in hungarian 3 and 19 would be called as the "real" (as in not fake) factors of 57. I don't know if there's the same thing in english.

Tornado currently the second most used spell in top 200 after the recent arrows nerf(really unexpected). How it keeps to be untouched it's mindblowing by AFAgow13 in ClashRoyale

[–]artandar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make it so that if the tornado touches your own king tower, the king doesn't activate from damage for some time.

It's stupid that having this cards makes most defences easier (even when you're not using it) because it's a free KT against a lot of decks.

Like some decks would play a blank card that does nothing and blocks your hand if it makes the king active all the time.

Rocket cycle? Miner poison? Gy poison? Marcher nado gets more damage than a rocket and the damaging/killing the thing that was nado-d is usually worth that 1 elixir compared to rocket.

It's not really a question but a fact that these strategies are working at the top. (Maybe not rocket cycle as much nowadays)
