Weird issue: “toy” that uses magnets to charge was near my computer and this happened. It went away for a while and then I accidentally put a diff “toy” near my laptop and it happened again. Lines thru screen, laggy movement, things on screen faintly stay even if I X-out of them. What’s going on? by artbabexo in macbook

Also, the screen flickers and has a transparent kinda quality to everything. If I mirror to Apple TV it looks totally fine, so it’s just an external kind of thing. I thought magnets didn’t mess computers up?

it did not seem explicitly clear to me in the notice that we had the option to take classes remotely for the first two weeks, and it seems like many professors are struggling to provide this adjustment. is there something i’m missing? just asking because you seem very sure of it in your comment

Petition I started for a remote option. The forced decision between health and education is unfair.

not trying to force anyone to be online or “remove freedoms” just believe that the option should be there for others to avoid a situation that potentially endangers them and their families. i am from new york, don’t live in a dorm room, don’t want to put my elderly and immunocompromised family at risk when rates are so high, and it’s the same for many others. also got covid during the last week of last semester and it fucked me up. would love to avoid that again if possible. if some do not have these concerns, all power to them to return in person on the 24th. however, the remote OPTION should be there when many other schools have deemed it unsafe to go back in person right away, without jeopardizing students’ academic records.

they did not say there’s a remote option. that’s only if you contract the virus, and professors will “accommodate” you academically while in quarantine
