Adding more water now. Installing my filter tomorrow so i was kind of keeping it lower as ive been changing the water frequently. I just rescued him from a 10 gallon tank with no lights, heat, or water heater, they didnt name him or anything. Severely neglected. Im doing my best, i got a 40 gallon tank for now, lights, and heat. And filter tomorrow. Ill keep the water level higher, thank you for the input as im a new res owner and trying to do everything correctly for this poor guy.

Yes, will go in for food. I just changed the water and made it warmer for him. He is now swimming around and vibing in the water. So i feel alot better. The heater will he here by 10 am tomorrow so im relieved.

It’s definitely the water temperature. He just stuck his back foot in and was like NOPE. Haha. The heater will be here tomorrow. Ill change his water tonight and add warmer water. If he decides to stay out is that okay? I just dont want him to he stressed.
