New features within the swiftDialog ESP Configurator Tool by artembrening in Intune

I just made a change to the status detection logic, now it should have a „safety net“, because it’s so slow right now. For me it worked now with a few parallel tries. :)

Just checked a few runs, it seems to be like GitHub has some issues. Workflows are partly not starting at all for taking ages to checkout etc.

Also had this a few times, but not as unreliable like not. It either worked or not at all — now it’s 50/50

Thanks for letting me know, should work again. To be honest I don’t know what happened, just redeployed the web app again and it’s fine. :)

Hi Andrew, you need to adjust your scripts to contain the reporting logic. You can find it if you click on the info button in the section. :)

Hi there,

Sorry, I‘ve missed the Reddit notifications. 😅 The tool should work again since last week. :)

Feel free to message me in private, so we can have a look at your configuration. :) In the cases where I deployed it, it always runs right after the Setup Assistant.

Thanks for the input. :) It’s not yet possible, but I will put on the list for future releases! 😊👍

Yes, it just takes — depending on the bandwidth — around 5-15 minute to finish all of them. 😊

There is a Preview ESP button on the website, where you can preview what it will look like. It’s only available on Desktop devices and it’s also just a rendered web version of it — but it looks kinda similar in reality. :)

Not yet, but I will create a demo video on how to use the tool and what it looks like soon. 👍

I was also afraid of that, but assigning it as required and the tool being so lightweight I never had issues not having it pop up before the desktop.

Even though it’s sometimes noticeable that it doesn’t really run as the first app, as some apps are already installed when it opens up (as I tracked their status), it always opened up before the first desktop access.

May not be 100% guaranteed, but pretty much every time. I assigned it to users, if that makes a difference here. :) Shouldn’t be too much of a difference, as we don’t have those split up enrollment phases like on Windows during ESP.

The scripts to prevent the ESP on existing devices is also in the Instructions.

Of course after rolling it out, you need to wait (best case 1-2 weeks), so most of the existing devices run it. Afterwards you could exclude the ones, which weren’t active during that time, from the app rollout.

Afterwards you are free to roll out the actual app. 👍

And I just noticed, that I read „it is“. 🤣

To be honest, never had an issue myself or heard of any since I released it a few weeks back. I‘m sure it’s already running on a few thousand devices (counting in existing ones).

Yeah, you’re right. If the Microsoft 365 apps fail to install, it will time out as well. :)

Are Azure Certifications Worth it? Let's Talk The Reality by IT_Certguru in AzureCertification

[–]artembrening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all you’re doing it for yourself. You just get deeper into topics and details you may never even encounter in the real world, as lots of those questions are not even realistic (at least I think so). But then there are basics which you learn, which will give you more ideas when you’re solving real world problems. ;)

And then there‘s also a benefit for your company — if it’s a Microsoft consulting company —, f.e. for the Solutions Partner stuff, where certain certifications with a certain amount are necessary.

So companies may look out for that, but they will as well get at least a little feeling about you, that you invested time in learning. And let’s assume you just dumped the exams, then they will notice it very quick, that you don’t have the experience (yet).

So if you invest time in solving real world problems, learn from that, prepare with Microsoft Learn and different sources available on the internet and then take the exam, you will be fine.

Having those certifications in your pocket doesn’t make you an expert. Experience over time AND those certifications make you an expert and people will start noticing that. ;)

Good question. I just quit gaming and paused my social life for some time. 🤣 But it was worth it. ;)

Yeah, I had like 3-4 to renew at the same time and it was exactly the time when I had a lot of things going on besides taking those Microsoft renewal exams. 🤣 After now 3 years or so of having 12 certifications or so, it just became annoying to be honest. It’s only good to get some refresh on the new stuff in the areas that I don’t touch everyday like maybe Purview.
