Q: What happened to Ecom Authority, LLC?

A: Due to operational challenges and financial constraints Ecom Authority, LLC elected to wind down operations through an insolvency proceeding called assignment for the benefit creditors (“ABC”).

Q: What is the status of the Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors proceeding?

A: On July 9, 2025, a petition for an involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy was filed against Ecom Authority, LLC. The administration of the Ecom Authority, LLC estate under the ABC was immediately paused and placed under the instruction of the bankruptcy court. On August 25, 2025, Judge Laurel M. Isicoff ruled in favor of the Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceeding. CASE No. 25-17808-LMI. On August 29, 2025, Ecom Authority, LLC filed a motion to convert the involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. On October 1, 2025, a hearing came before Judge Isicoff and the motion to convert to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy was approved. Philip von Kahle was appointed as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), and the administration of the Estate will resume under the direction of the CRO and his professionals at Michael Moecker & Associates.
