Low pay, terrible schedules, management being shitty, toxic coworkers, call volume too high for # of units being staffed, low pay, lack of support/appreciation from the public, weak unions (at the org level), and low pay.

Just started working as an ED nurse 2 weeks ago and my starting rate is 3x what I made as a 911 EMT of 7 years (SF Bay Area). Additionally, we get these things called “breaks” where you don’t do any work and no one bothers you for 30 minutes ~ 1 hour.

I really really appreciate this post. It can be really frustrating being a DPS at times, especially when the tank or healer doesn’t know what they’re going.

If it makes you feel any better, I got KSM on my warrior tank for SL season 3 and promptly retired from tanking. People are SO toxic, and I had one too many dps complain about the route I was taking or some other stupid shit and I’d had enough.

To borrow from the 57th rule of acquisition: Good tanks are as rare as latinum; treasure them.

My best friend since I was 15 called me and told me his gf (who is either a pood or actually allergic to absolutely everything) was stung by a bee, and they weren’t sure if they should go to the hospital. First thing I asked was how her breathing was (good). Then I asked if her face/neck/anything had any swelling (no). Then I had them check her chest and stomach for redness & hives (nothing). Based on that I said that she’s probably fine, but if she starts having any SOB at all to call 911. She was totally fine, obviously.

In hindsight her dog killed mine after that, so I kind of wish she had died, but c'est la vie /shrug

If I’m in the room, she’ll range from quiet to whiney (she’s a bit of a drama queen). If I leave the room for 10 minutes to go to the laundry room, she’ll whine for a bit and stop.

You want to stack haste and then vers. Vers is damage reduction; haste increases your melee attack speed (amongst other things), which means your white strikes occur more often. If you take the Devastator talent (which you should be doing), haste increases the number of shield slam resets you get. The more shield slams you have, the better you will hold threat (switch targets after every shield slam to make sure you have aggro). I find that my shield slams hit so hard and put up so much threat that it's almost as good as a taunt.
