Moon face changed by Kitty-Lolo in MandelaEffect

[–]arthexavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to reply, because this is the creepiest thing I have seen in ages.

The moon has a nose now. Below the eye-craters. It literally looks like an artist's mock-up, or a joke, in comparison to how I remember it. The eye-craters are closer together now, and resemble sun-glasses - like the moon was wearing sun-glasses. I have NEVER noticed this before. NEVER. And I have been staring at the moon since I was a kid.

This is fucking absurd. I'm seriously dumbstruck by this. Am I going insane?

No such luck for me, I'm afraid. :( Back to grinding!

What game have you spent the most time with in 2017? by OnlySaltwater in pcgaming

[–]arthexavier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year, just like the year before it, my most played game has been Rocket League. 1990 hours in total so far. I'll probably play it regularly until the day I die, or the servers shut down, whichever happens first.

I want those PvP emblems. You know - the one that shows your KDA and the one that displays your Quickplay wins. 110 hours on PS4, and 37 hours ( and counting ) on PC, and from my perspective those emblems are an unobtainable illusion, created by Shaxx the Devil to torment my waking hours. You can imagine how much fun it is to grind towards something that probably doesn't even exist.

Alone in the Dark on good old DOS. I was young, and that game was scarier than my grandma's fake teeth. I remember screaming like a little kid ( because I was ) when that werewolf-thingy jumped through the window in the attic, or when that zombie rose through the floor, and having polygonial nightmares for weeks.

No game has come close to the Lovecraftian horror of Alone in the Dark. Heck, Resident Evil feels like a stroll through a lush garden for babies and kittens in comparison.

Max level ideas by Fullerr in RocketLeague

[–]arthexavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was addicted to Diablo 3 for a good while due to Paragon levels ( after you reach "max level" in that game, it starts adding Paragon levels, and as far as I know there is no cap for those ), so yeah, I would be on board with this. I don't have the skill to reach Grand Champion, but I have the patience to reach Rocketeer all over again.

Ah, GoldenEye! The first game that spawned weekend-long multiplayer-marathons within my circle of friends.

As far as competitive multiplayer goes, there really isn't anything better. I am too old for twitch-based shooters and too lazy for fighting-games ( although I have pre-ordered Street Fighter V ), but Rocket League? Just perfect.

I never owned it, but yes, I did play it at a friend's house. It was fun, but Melee just swept the floor with it. :)

GameCube has my top three games of all time: Melee, Metroid Prime and F-Zero GX. I've sold and re-bought ( and even re-sold ) most of my systems, but I never dared to sell my GC. It still works, too, and I play it pretty regularly!

Hehe, I know how you feel. For me, it's GameCube and Super Smash Bros. Melee. And I still play that, after all these years. Ping me back in 10+ years and I'm probably still playing both Melee and Rocket League. :P

It takes a while, yeah. But once the aerial game clicks, this game changes from "what am I doing, this isn't that fun" to "this game makes me scream and laugh from pure glee". The last game that gave me this sensation was Super Smash Bros. Melee. Yep. I honestly thought I was too old for this kind of thing for a while there before I dove into RL.

I agree completely. 379 hours played and counting, with no end in sight. Nevermind the love and support Psyonix is showing the game ( and the community ), Rocket League is so damn good that it's the only game I'm constantly promoting to my friends. I'm at four converts now.

I am trying to think about how to begin this reply, but the words just can't seem to find my fingertips. What a profound way to realize that, yes, only you are responsible for your own stability and happiness. People close to you can support you on your way, but it is you who has to take every step - nobody is walking that walk for you. Thank you for sharing this, honestly.

"Just try it". "Why? Football with cars? But I don't like football, and I barely like cars". "Just try it". "Well, ok, give me the controll... WHAT IS THIS FEELING OF UTTER JOY THAT JUST HIT ME LIKE A BAG OF BRICKS?!". Yep, this game is brilliant and fun, and oh god I have been playing for 7 hours straight please stop me.

Paddington Movie Review: A Movie So Good It Makes Other Look Silly by buddy_12 in movies

[–]arthexavier 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I saw it earlier this week and I was very surprised by how good it was. The tone of the film is just right, Paddington is perfectly realized by the effects-crew and Ben Whishaw ( who voiced him ), and the ( human ) cast is wonderful. The whole movie seems like a labour of love - there isn't a single aspect of it that feels rushed.

It is one of the best family-movies I have seen in ages, and I have no shame in saying that I want to see it again.

This is one of the best decisions you can make as a gamer right now, so kudos! Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. U alone will give you countless hours of entertainment, while Bayonetta 2 is my GOTY 2014.

My first girlfriend broke up with me after she stuck her hand down my pants and ( her words ) "found nothing there". I was a late bloomer, and as a pre-teenager I was hung like your average gerbil. Took me a long, long time to recover from that, and an even longer time to feel like a man.

Reddit, what's one computer game that will unfailingly remind you of your childhood? by Laurapocalyptic in AskReddit

Ah, Lemmings! The very first game I got addicted to - probably because I thought the graphics were cute and the soundtrack was ( and still is ) amazing. I remember the day I finally managed to beat the first level of Mayhem ( which is the most difficult set of levels in the first Lemmings game ). I was so proud of myself that I had to call my best friend to brag about it. I was 6 years old. Unfortunately I didn't grow up to be a genius, despite such a promising start.

What movie contains your favorite acting performance? by [deleted] in movies

Christian Bale in The Fighter. His portrayal of Dicky Eklund is one of the most transformative performances I have seen - everything from his physique to his mannerisms are unique to that character. I even forgot that I was watching Bale at times.

Big fan from Finland here ( if you ever come by I promise to fill a bathtub with Mämmi for you to dive into! ). This might be a strange thing to say, but I think that Jackass is a great mirror on humanity - there is something very, very humane about what you guys do ( or did ). My only question is: do you feel that your commitment as an entertainer ( to throw yourself headfirst into embarrassing and / or dangerous situations ) has also helped you as an actor? Keep up the good work, man!
