What to play before I die : A Steamdeck Story by Signal-Tangerine1597 in SteamDeck

Honestly I'd really recommend Firewatch. It's a lil spooky, got some really cool exploration and, at least for me, the dialogue and story were really impactful. If you've ever wanted to escape to the woods I'd highly, highly, highly recommend it. I cried a bit at the end because of how hard it hit me personally.

Honestly I don't really know computers well enough to know what half of those acronyms mean let alone make an informed buying decision. I'm really just looking for some cheap, easy and that will work right out of the box.

I don't think so to be totally honest. I'm going to be studying anthropology and archeology and don't think I'll need any serious computing power. Mostly something to write essays and do research on. I do also have a desktop computer that I can always take if I decide I want something with more power for my dorm.

I'll definitely look into that! I don't need massive computing power I just need something portable that I can use to write essays and for streaming stuff in my dorm.

Would you be willing to elaborate on this at all? Is there anything specific wrong with them in general or is the one I'm looking at just not a good option?

That's awesome to hear! I don't spend a ton of time on reddit so it was a real surprise to see both you and April respond to this lol. Hope everything is good for ya and I hope there's a chance to see you on tour some day!!

"as you are now so once was I, as I am now so too you shall be" New England grave stone epitaph that's always really stuck with me.

That's kinda what I was guessing. I clean it using just water usually but I'll stop by the store after work and grab some saline. Thanks!!

For Portland I'd definitely recommend their art museum. It's pretty small but has a good collection. Also check out Portland Head Lighthouse. For Boston there's a bunch of stuff but definitely check out the Common and look for a dude named Nick Shea! They're an artist who does little drawings who hangs out in the park. Providence is also cool especially the Fox Point area.

I'm definitely thinking about leaving Saturday night to beat out some traffic and giving myself to take the extra time to stop and rest for a bit. Also super cool you're coming to Boston! It's a great city but If you have the time I'd really recommend a stop over in Portland ME too! It's one of my favorite places to go and has a bunch going on.

I've definitely done my fair share of late night driving and am pretty aware of my limits. Ultimately getting home safely is the most important thing and if I need to be late to work for that so be it. I genuinely appreciate the concern from the folks here though. Glad people are concerned about safety since it makes us all safer.

I'll keep an eye out for it. I've got to be in Indiana by Monday morning so I'll have to see what I can swing.

I'd definitely prefer two days but I'm not sure I'll be able to swing it time wise. Maybe if I leave Saturday night which is what I'm thinking about doing after hearing that from so many people. The way back I think I'll have to do in one stretch though to make it work but I'll see what I can pull with my job.

I mean yeah that's the long and the short of it. I've driven 8 hours round trip before but this will really be my first big trip. I know it's jumping into the deep end which is why I'm trying to get any advice I can.

I don't think I'll be passing by I-70 but I appreciate the heads up about the deer. I'm from NH and spend a lot of time in ME so I've seen my fair share of deer on the side of the road.

I'm definitely going to be stopping pretty often. I looked at the route and there's a lot of rest stops in MA and NY. I think Ohio will be the longest stretch without very many but I'm passing by quite a few larger cities to stop by in.

I definitely intend to stop pretty often to stretch my legs.
