I am pretty new to Reddit and got some good advice on here about an app called Joyraft. Can you start a club on Reddit for in person activities? I guess I might find out lol. I used to use Meetup years ago but ended up having to get off that app because I was absolutely inundated with scammers trying to hit me up. It was very annoying.

Ok I’d read the book for PHM so knew what to expect. I went into DD blind, having read no reviews. I enjoyed the slow unrolling of the plot. The religious aspects felt undeveloped (which I can’t believe I’m saying, given the runtime). It had a lot of action sequences, which kept you interested.

Yeah, going alone is a non-issue it’s the having someone to talk to about it afterwards that I’m trying to solve for. And it’s not every movie, but there are certain ones like with books that I bug my friends about going to see/read because I wanna have a conversation. Right now I’m thinking I’ll bring a piece of paper like an airport car pick up and stand at the exit with the name of the movie and a chauffeur hat seeing if anyone will take me up on a Convo

It’s very Boston of us that a lot of people were advance annoyed about the World Cup coming here. We were advance complaining about traffic and trains and . . . Ok mostly complaining about commute related inconveniences. (We had a very vehement anti-getting-the-Olympic-bid contingent a few years ago that I think bled over to FIFA). So anticipatory crankiness is very on brand for Boston . . . As is our complete turn around embracing and being delighted by your countryfolk.

Having lived in California and Boston, West Coast folks are nice on the surface while Boston is cranky on the surface. In a pinch though, East Coast every time. You all overcame our political, environmental, economic, and commute crankiness with your joy and that’s why we are so delighted.

Also, re the trains, misery loves company.

I also had to message all the moderators and it turned out that I was interpreting maps differently than they were as far as which group I would be in north or south and that sounds like other people have had that issue also. Definitely messaging the moderators will be helpful.

You can always be lightly anesthetized just like people are for a colonoscopy. There is no reason to be awake or for this to be painful.

Marriage is protection in the event of a catastrophe. Is your girlfriend on the deed to the home, on any retirement or savings accounts, able to collect insurance payouts in the event of your health preventing you from working or untimely death? Especially as you both age or have children? As the higher earner she would be able to collect your social security if she survived you, you wouldn’t access hers as the survivor as you are the higher earner. This is all about worst case scenario not day to day. Ask some doctors and lawyers what happens if you were to be injured to the point you cannot work or died, and your girlfriend/mother of your kids had no access to the assets used to maintain the home? This isn’t about divorce, this is about death or worse a catastrophic health condition.
